Crave a look that sets you apart from everyone else on the mountain? That’s what the 686 Women’s ACC Empire Insulated Jacket is all about. 686’s Artist Collaboration Conspiracy series takes an artistic approach to outerwear. Not onlye is this snappy jack waterproof, but 686 also insulated it with toasty Polyfill engineered specifically for the movements involved in snowboarding. Artist Brandi Milne did the artwork on the ACC Empire Insulated Jacket’s lining, and we think you’ll love wrapping yourself in her playful happy design.

Definitely warm, but not so warm that you're going to die of the heat if you start working up a sweat. It has nice vents that you can open to get extra cool air in that situation. Otherwise, it's really warm throughout the core area and a little cooler in the sleeves. However, there is a snug inner cuff so that the cold winter air won't go up your sleeves. The outter cuff can be cinched tighter as well.

Great for standing out

My main reasons for buying this coat were to have a warm jacket for the cold winters up north and also to stand out on campus. The last thing I wanted to be was just another girl on campus with a black Northface fleece. This jacket definitely delivers on both of my wishes. I'm for sure the only girl on campus with this sweet coat design. Also, the coat is designed to keep the right parts of you warm and other parts cool if you're working up a sweat going down some slopes. My core is kept nice and warm in this jacket, but the arms have a little ventilation to keep you somewhat cool. Cold winter air won't ever fly up your sleeves, however, because the coat is designed with tight elastic cuffs inside of the larger cuff that fit snug against your wrists. One last feature that I love about this coat is the back of the coat. There is a way to cinch in the waist of the coat if you're trying to look good walking around campus, but when it's time to hit the slopes, you can let out the waist and have that extra room to move around.

What size would you recommend for a 5'7 and 140lbs? M or L? I layer up a little bit but I don't want to look like a shapeless blob...

I'm about the same height and weight as you. I wear this jacket in a medium which allows for layering (there are also snaps on the back of the waist which allows you to sinch a little for a more flattering fit.) This is my pow jacket, it runs a little longer in length and hits just below the butt. I live, work, and ride in Lake Tahoe where it has been tried and tested in pure blizzard conditions. I highly highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good quality, warm, and flattering snowboard jacket!
