686 Mannual Antic Jacket - Men's - 2009

There’s no time to look in the mirror after waking up to a winter wonderland. Rest assured, the 686 Men’s Mannual Antic Jacket will wrap you in waterproof style for a day on the hill. Taped critical seams reinforce 686’s Infinidry-8 fabric and complete a barrier against the elements. Button the Pant-connect Snap Tabs into your Mannual collection pants, and get your Voltron on. Well, almost … you won’t turn into a giant robot with lions for hands that can smash things, but you will have solid protection from moisture on your list of powers.

Bottom Line: Antics are fun; they’re even better when you stay dry and your buddy doesn’t.

No wrist gaitors, but good velcro around the wrists. I've got "over gloves" and haven't had a problem. If you don't want to look too baggy get a medium or a small. I'm 6'5" (195cm) and would have gotten the Large but it was sold out, got the XL and it's pretty huge which is fine with me.

This jacket is bad. But bad as in good! I've rocked it a few times now and it's better than most brands. You get good quality with good looks. What more could you ask for?! Highly recommend it!

TOASTY! It's got a mesh back with DOUBLUR lining. This means it's kinda of a shell/full jacket. Just strap the gaiter when it's dumpin and leave it loose in the park to air out.

Jackets don't have temperature ratings. If its cold you should wear several layers under a waterproof jacket. You can adjust the layers according to the temperature.

Great Jacket

By:
December 16, 2009

This Jacket really is sick. I got the white one. Yeah I know what you think, white just gets dirty, which is true but after it's washed it still looks way good. I love the features it has as well. I've never worn anything made by 686 but I probably will again later on in the future. It's great for cold weather and I've taken it boardin twice so far and I've stayed pretty dry. And when your tearin it up on the mountain and the sun is out, just open up the vents too cool off.
The only thing I didn't like was that it's pretty baggy. It could be just cause of my hight, I'm 5'9 215lbs I got a LG and it comes down to the top of my knees. Most of my older coats did the same thing, but I like to wear it in public too. So I could have maybe gone with a M.
I love this coat though.

Hi Tonje, For a baggy fit that's not ridiculous, a medium will be a much better choice for your size. 686 products are designed to fit baggy.

Dope jacket

I love this jacket. It's got all the features you would want in a jacket, for a reasonable price. Can't go wrong with 686.

Does it seem odd to anyone else that the sleeve measurement is 37-38 inches for a medium? I realize that its measured from the center of the back to the wrist, but still seems waaaaay too long.

Are the sleeves just supposed to be long on this thing?

Simple Steezy Lightweight Jacket

By:
January 7, 2010

I've got a 686 Smarty jacket that I've loved for a while. I was looking for something more lightweight, since I live and ride mostly in SoCal, and the heavier more insulated jacket was too much most of the time.

Picked up the Manual (in white) because I trust the brand and really liked the style. This jacket lacks some of the cool features of the Smarty (wrist gaiters, pass through chest vent, pass pocket, etc), but for a simple lightweight jacket it's great and looks cool. First day out I got hit with a rainy/snowy mix and the waterproofing held up great.

My only minor complaints are: iPod pocket is just a little too small for an iPhone. The pocket placement (low near the waist) also makes it hard to get at your music to change it if you're zipped up (The Smarty's pass thru chest vent is perfect for that). The lower zipper (from the bottom up) would give you easier access, but it seems to get stuck on the inner flap of fabric everytime. I would also love a removable hood and a few more pockets, but that's mostly because I'm spoiled by the more expensive and feature packed Smarty jacket.

I am 6'1" and I have a large. If you are going to wear it for snowboarding a Large is perfect. If you want one for everyday use, go with a Medium.

These jackets fit pretty loose. If you're looking for a less baggy fit, go Large. if you need that gangsta steez, go with the XL.

Any thing under 25 f you would probably want more layers. But above that, the water proofing is what will keep your toasty when shredding your lines. Good luck
