depends on your definition of huge. I am 5'9" and probably like 130-140 (read: really skinny) and the jacket is pretty big on me, but not funny looking HUGE. If you are 5'6" the jacket would probably come down to mid-thigh on you...on me it comes right below my butt. Although i love this jacket, the next jacket i would buy i would probably search for an XS for myself and i dont think 686 makes XS

My guy likes it! Baggy fit.

By:
February 25, 2010

For all who want to know the fit, it's baggy! My guy is 6'1" and is about 185lbs I bought a Large for him and it is baggy in the body(thats good if you want to layer.) He doesn't like his clothes tight so it's perfect for him. he also has big shoulders and it fits lose there as well. The arms are long and the hemline sits at his upper thigh. I am pretty sure he would have fit into a medium as well! (he regularly wears a large!)

sick jacket for the price

By:
February 18, 2010

really glad i purchased this one...nice quality, warm, really good price! the jacket has some really cool subtle details like a silver paisley print all over the hood. Like others have said this jacket does indeed have critically taped seams.

fit wise i thought it was going to be super huge but its not. I am about 5'9" and super skinny...i got a Small. I normally like my jackets a little more fitted but this one fit pretty well (slightly baggy.). If anything, the body was fine but the sleeves are huge for my tiny arms. The jacket length comes down to right below my crotch.

dogfunk is the best!!!!

i personally would get a Large if i were you. i'm 5'6 and rock a medium, but i like my gear baggy. for me the sleeves are perfect for me. the torso area is a little long in length on me, but i like the fit.

Favorite Jacket

By:
December 9, 2008

I got one of these on sale towards the end of last season, sight unseen. I like outerwear to be baggy, although it's a bit bigger than I expected. All the features you need and very good quality. Close enough, so I kept it. I've never been cold in it, and it is now my favorite of all 4 jackets I currently wear.

Amazing

By:
December 14, 2009

This jacket is sick. The fit is slightly baggy but that's what makes it super comfy. It's on the lighter side so for those really cold days you'll probably need something else (or just more layers, who knows). Stays dry the whole time. Really no complaints about this one, I simply love it

This jacket has a good amount of insulation and good (not amazing) waterproofing. It will keep you toasty in really cold weather, but you still might consider wearing a base layer, like a fleece, underneath on the coldest days. Hope that helps.

For a dude your size, the large will fit properly. if you'd like some extra room, choose the XL.

Sick Jacket!

By:
November 11, 2009

This jacket rocks! I love it cuz it's super baggy. I'm 5'11 and i got this in a large and its still baggy! There are a ton of great pockets on this thing and one zippy i'm very excited about. its on the right side and its a zipper so you can get into your coat without having to undo your whole coat. Easily the best zipper ever! You want a baggy, comfy jacket... this one is for you

Nice Jacket-Runs Big

By:
March 30, 2009

Good design, quality materials, lots of features for the price. I bought a large and it was too big so keep that in mind when ordering 686 products. They are definitely cut baggy compared to other brands...
