Description

For that good, tender warmth.

We get it, not everybody is a hardened mountain mama who's content to wear a flannel when it's minus twenty. For those of a gentler disposition, 686 built the Mannual Tender insulated women's jacket. With the 10K/8K waterproof breathable shell, and 100g synthetic insulation in the body, and 60g in the hood and sleeves, your day at the resort will be warm and dry, long after everyone else in your crew has headed back to the lodge to attend to hot chocolate and frozen fingers. The critical seams are taped, further beefing up the weather resistance. The Street fit is slim enough to look stylish on or off the hill, but it won't hinder your ability to layer. When you've just gotta ditch that extra heat, the mesh lined underarm vents come in handy. Two way adjustable Death Grip cuffs keep your sleeves from riding up, and you can run them as a traditional cuff, or loop it around your thumb for extra security. Like you'd expect, the powder skirt keeps the snow out of your jacket, and on the mountain, where it belongs.

awesome jacket

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

I am 5'3", 109 lbs, and tend to like my jackets on the looser side, particularly because I am broader in the shoulders, but I decided to go with the small (instead of medium) & it fit perfectly. There is still room to layer underneath & the sleeves are a little long. I love the fit & warmth of this jacket & the underarm venting which is much more generous than any jacket I've had before. It's not winter yet, so I have not fully put it to the test.

This jacket is 686's street fit which is their trimmest fitting line while trying to not compromise movement.

No Wrist Gaiters.

Sooo disappointed that there actually weren't wrist gaiters on this jacket. The jacket flares out quite a bit toward the bottom as well. I'm 5'9 and 140 pounds and I bought the large so I have a little bit more space to layer. All in all, it's a comfortable jacket, super warm and cozy, and covers my bum! I'm just hoping the snow stays out of my sleeves!
