BEST. JACKET. EVER...
honestly i could type forever on how much i love this coat. the black wax coating does something to it, upping the waterproofing to insane conditions. ive been buried in powder and had noooo issues. its hands down the steeziest coat ive worn AND seen...people stop me all the time. its a bit of a slimmer fit, usually i go small, but ive got a medium, which with a hoodie underneath, is PERFECT. so do me a favor...get this coat asap, but dont come to crested butte, so i can hold it down in the MAD DOPE GEAR dept alone lol....
America F YEAH!!!!!!
Coming again, to save the mother * day yeah. If you've ever shopped at a army/navy surplus, been active duty circa Vietnam, or dressed up as a GI JOE for Halloween, you'll recognize this jacket. It looks like an M65 but better. The material is heavy and will most definitely keep you warm if you're wearing anything underneath, unlike the creepy homeless vets that wear the original in the subway. Plenty of pockets and does have a headphone system. Fits well on tall people. Except for the wrist gaiters- if you're tall and wear these, the first time you go to strap in, you'll probably tear them a little like I did. But if you don't have gorilla arms like me, you'll be fine. The hood isn't very useful, as its pretty basic in order to make it pack into the collar. But who cares- if you need it, its there. And since we all are smart and wear helmets, who needs a hood anyway. Terrorists- your game is through.
This jacket really surpassed my expectations. All the materials feel top notch and the fit is amazing, really true to size. All the vents and pockets are also a nice touch and the level of insulation with a little room for layering is perfect.
11/22/2011 > I have not tried to use it on slope and I already fell in love their design like I can use it at work professionally. It definitely is my ideal of snowboard jacket and it is black denim. I seriously am required to have a waist gaiter which it has on it! Importantly, I often do not use hood that much and I sometimes wish either hide it or button it off but this jacket has amazing design to hide the hood beautifully! It definitely worth my purchasing.
Can't wait to hit it on slope!
12/3/2011 > After hit slope at Kirkwood in 29 degree and windy. I feel warm enough except when I go on lift, my arm feel little cold obvious because there was not much of active. Glad to know it can keep me warm in deep COLD! Adding a thermal would be sufficient.
i love this jacket!! got last years model in the black denim, it looks great on, the fit isn't too slim but definitely not baggy. looks good on the slopes, but also good off. usually take a train to get to the mountains, and it looks good with just jeans. keeps you warm enough (i get cold incredibly easy, so thats just me) as long as you layer properly, you'll be good to go. buy it!!!!
