Sometimes you need a soft-shell. . .
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: True to size
and when you do I'd recommend this Ugly-Sweater jacket. This is because its super functional, more so than most of the other soft-shells I researched at this price point at least. Plus, I don't even think its ugly (this is coming from someone who can be caught wearing sweaters like these out to the bar). I think its important to not that this thing looks way better in person than in a 2-d photograph- I think this is because of the slight 3-d ribbing that is made look and feel like the actual stitch of a sweater like this - I thought this was a rad little touch.
This piece isn't my only jacket, bit it is 10k so I'm not afraid to run it on pretty much any day here in Utah. Might not wear it in the rain, but snow and wind for sure! Most important thing to remember with this jacket and any soft shell for that matter - don't touch it if you don't have to! When you touch it/apply pressure to soft shells it seams their waterproof fabric can be slightly present if moisture is present on the jacket. This hasn't been a problem yet for me with this jacket, but I am very careful and have had few days where I've had to hold back on the urge to brush off beaded water.
Other things I was stoked on: theres a huge pocket on the inside, theres a powder skirt, it looks like a real sweater, its warm when its COLD!
