Description

The wise ones have spoken.

The elders of the tribal council have declared 686’s Smarty Council Jacket to be the wise choice for those who want a shredtastic 3-in-1 jacket that snubs wet winter storms. And really, with its fresh, plaid pattern and hooded fleece liner, who’s going to disagree?
  • All 686 Smarty pants and jackets are designed with a 3-in-1 detachable liner system that allows you to wear the gear multiple ways
  • Keep the fleece liner in to retain your heat as you float through the shadow-pow, and remove it and stash it in your pack for afternoon sunny-groomer slaying
  • 15K-rated fabric and fully taped seams mean you can ride the Council through wet winter storms while your friends shiver with soaked-through shells and soggy baselayers
  • Hooded fleece liner retains heat on cooler days, but can be removed for spring conditionspair with additional layers when the temperature really drops
  • Adjustable powder skirt, pant-connect snaps, wrist gaiters, adjustable hood, and hem drawcord all conspire to seal out the snow

I'm an even 6' and weight ~190 lb with a 33" waist. Should I get a large or a medium? I don't really like the real huge style that's been popular the past few years, but too small is disastrous in the powder!

I am thinking of buying this ski jacket for my husband who is 5'10" with a 33" waist and is a 40 in men's suits. He's usually either a medium or a large. Does this jacket run small/large...just wondering what size might suit him best. Thank you!

Responded on

This jacket runs on the larger side...I suggest choosing a medium to fit him best. Happy holidays!

I'm looking at either this or the Mannual Haze for my 15 yr old who is 5'9 and ~110 lbs. What size and which jacket do you recommend? Thanks!

Responded on

You could choose a small for a more traditional fit or medium if he likes a more baggy fit.

Responded on

Yep they share the same cut and they will fit the same.

A "Smarty" choice

This jacket is super warm & Dry! I love the smarty layer that comes w/ it too, I wear it on it's own all the time. 15k is perfect for wear I live in the Rocky's. when it's warm I just wear the shell & I'm perfect. I'm digging the Red as well!
