686 New Balance 2012 Boots VS Last Years 2011 Boots
So these are massive, but inside not so much, I have flat feet ride a 10 boot but this one actually fits me as a 10.5. Not as stiff as they make it seem and straps that just cause bulk and weight need to go. I rode them for about 100 plus days and they are dead now...
It is October 27th, 2011 and I have now been riding this years limited additions for 10 days now. They have removed all the crap, trimmed them down, stiffened them like nothing I have ridden before, that are as light as a free style boot, I have ridden in hundreds of boots over the past 20 years in all types of settings and these are by far the lightest, stiffest, and most comfortable boots I have ridden in to date. Price would be better suited in the low mid $250 range, but I can tell these 2012 designs are going to change the back country boot for ever. If you want a light, stiff boot that do what they say this is it. Forget last years attempt!!!
Also they fit me perfect as a size 10 and I am a size 10 boot.
Great boot. Very comfortable and secure. The straps really do make the difference.
They look cool, seem to be made with good material and probably would keep your feet very warm. Ok, that's where the good ends.
These things are HUUUGGEEE. I opened the box and thought they accidentally shipped me 15s instead of 11s. This is the bulkiest, heaviest boot I've ever seen. Also I have high arches and my foot really wouldn't fit into them, so if you have flat feet or low arches then they would probably fit just fine. On a side note, they are not as orange as they look in the picture, more like if you mixed orange with a salmon type color.
I would recommend these to anyone looking to walk on the surface of the moon.
i know the description says "low profile...
i know the description says "low profile and light weight," but from the pics, they look pretty bulky. anyone got a review on these?

This company hasn't been doing this for very long? Did anyone use last years model alot? if so, how were they? This just feels like a mystery boot to me...
