Everybody's working for the weekend.

Alright Mr. Working Man, you wanted some burly bibs so you could dress the same way on the hill that you do on the farm? When you're done mucking out the barn, try on the 686 X Dickies Bib Overall Insulated Men's Pant, which has a classic Dickies workwear look with modern shred-ready tech like a 15K waterproof membrane, fully-taped seams, and 40g polyfill insulation to keep you dry and warm. It also features all the things you'd expect in a pair of built-for-work overalls: a zippered chest pocket, belt loops, seat and leg patch pockets, and adjustable shoulder straps. Inseam zips regulate temperature, and lower-leg gussets help you dial in your look by letting the cuffs hang loose or snap tight around your boot.

  • InfiDry 15K waterproof membrane
  • 40g polyfill insulation
  • Fully-taped seams
  • Inseam vents and lower-leg gussets

+7 to powder-proofing

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is the perfect addition to any rider's wardrobe. The functionality of the bib allows you to wear pretty much whatever you want on top. You'll never have to worry about pow down your chonies again. When you combine the bib with a 686 jacket you're essentially invinsable on powder days, the snow skirt snaps work as well as you would expect them to.
The hammer hoop on the leg is ideal for a pair of gloves or hooking your helmet during a nice back country hike. The leg vents are fantastic, reaching from the knee all the way to your no-no zone, you'll have every opportunity to dump waste heat if necessary.
With the right layering you can wear this bib in just about any weather. 10/10 would buy again.

Steezy Bib Pant

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've always wanted a bib pant and I went with these bc I like 686 and the durability of Dickies. The pant isn't as insulated as I would have liked it, but it's still alot warmer than a normal pair of pants. Fit is comfortable, but I was expecting it to be a little baggier in the thighs and pants almost more of a tailored cut than a loose fit. Overall (haha), I like the pants and their style and they seem like they're going to last a few season. I would recommend to a friend.

Looks cool. Not as much insulation as I thought but a pair of long johns underneath will make them plenty warm for Colorado winters. Duck color looks the same as my Dickies carpenter pants I wear to work, so I'm sure the Hickory Stripe will be the same. Nice lined, taped pockets. Whole pant is put together really well.

Only complaint is size, not for me but the taller people. I'm 5'11/6' and the XL fit great length and width wise; mostly cause I'm chubby. But I can see length being an issue for someone over maybe 6'3. I don't know if these are available in a long option but that would be perfect for the taller people.

Other than that, great bibs. The suspension/bib system is great elastic with strong velcro. The pockets are everywhere and they even have a hammer loop just like the regular Dickies pants to hold your ball-peen. Just in case you come across some gapers.

Solid first impressions

Just got these in the mail and first impressions are awesome. Duck color is accurate to Dogfunk's image. The material is burly and feels tough. It will take some breaking in to soften up I think. I prefer insulated pants as I tend to run cold, and I dig the light insulation in these bibs.
For sizing, I'm 6 feet tall and super slim at 150 lbs. The medium was good in the waist but too short and gave me a wedgie, even with the suspenders fully extended. The large had the right torso length but they're very baggy in the waist and legs. Not ideal for my weird body type but I'll make do. I'd rather have em too big than too small. That's what the suspenders are for.

Responded on

Of course they're baggy, it's 686 not Patagucci.
