They sounded only slightly better than the earbuds that come with an iPod. I compared them to a few other headphones I have in my house using a few different devices. My Siege Audio earbuds (retail for $30 less than these) and a pair of $20 Philips headphones from Target sound significantly better.
I've heard that the bass is pretty dang good on these, but with that awesome bass, the rest of the tones sound muffled, or, drawn out, by the bass. Is this true?
Also, are these Blizzard ones the current gen? Or are they the 2nd to newest? I looked on the website and I don't see them. All of those are $100.
The bass is okay, but not great. Everything else sounds slightly muffled. I would say more "not sharp" than "muffled." They're definitely better than the headphones that came with your mp3 player, but not by much.
Not true at all, the bass is excellent, but it doesn't overpower anything else. You can listen to any type of music with these and the quality will still be fantastic
I bought these half a year ago, way before they were on dogfunk.com. I was looking for something very similar looking to skullcandy T.I.'s cause i hated those headphones but like the styles. Then i saw these while surfing the web through pages of headphones. For the money, they are by far the best headphones i have ever owned. I have yet to blow these out. And i seriously have not had headphones last for longer then 3 months, besides these. I can not say enough good things about these things. the mic clip switches songs for regular ipods too. OMG i love these headphones. Aerial7 kicks the ass out of skullcandy, Broadcasting by The comeback kid, OMG i don't even bother listening to it on any other headphones then these. I wear these for atleast 4 hours a day while doing homework, surfing the internet, or taking the bus and wanting to be in my own world. and 4 hrs of these and they are still super comfortable. I know its a unknown brand but please give them a shot over skullcandy. They only have a 1 year manufactures warrenty (DF has lifetime warrenty) warrenty but the sound quality is so much better and way more worth it then anything skull candy offers. For those that didn't want to read all that the main pointsGREAT SOUND QUALITY FOR PRICECOMFORTABLE OVER THE EARS FOR HOURSHAVE YET TO BLOW THEM OUTBUY BUY BUY BUY OVER SKULLCANDY
Dogfunk.com knows that no one wants the used-car-salesman experience, so we decided to show you the other guys prices in an effort to keep your shopping experience as informed as possible. We do our best to confirm this information is correct, but assume no responsibility for the accuracy of the price and shipping information provided by other vendors.
yes! these will fit large heads, my boyfriend has a massive dome and these are the most confortable headphones he has had. I have a small head and these also fit me and are very comfortable. the sound quality is amazing, these are a must have!
For the price they are very good headphones lots of punch for your buck and cream more expensive units And yes they sound way better than the fashion statement beats.
Coming this fall, you will want to purchase a YES board as well as a pair of Aerial7/YES Tank headphones. As you know, YES is DCP, Romain De Marchi, JP Solberg and Tadashi Fuse. We will be offering the YES headphones in Tank as well as the Sumo earbuds! Aerial7 is partnering with the right guys here for shizzle!
The Tanks are our strongest selling headphone. They are a DJ friendly headphone that boasts a 57mm driver with crystal clear sound. We also outfit these with extra cords for Skype, iPhone, iPod Blackberry, a coiler cord for dj'in (6ft) and as split cord to use on your PC. You get more back for the buck with these, and with our ever growing roster of snow athletes, most recently Patrick McCarthy you will hear more about us. If you are looking at a new headphone and of the Aerial7 headphones would be a good fit, but if you need to fulfill your audiophile needs, the Tank is a great alternative to Sony Studio Monitors
i absolutely love them! I tried to listen to many types of music and it works for alle of them! Also they are so comfortable!! I never thought I would find over-ear headphones so comfortable..! The bass flashes! Definitely better than Skullcandy! I'd highly recommend them ! They'r awesome!! And the price is really not much for what you get!!
Well, I've now had my Shade Tanks for about a year now and they're still hitting hard. I had to replace the stock spiral cord due to my damn cat. But even with a pretty mediocre replacement cord they still sound brand new. I've used them pretty extensively, testing their abilities constantly. Two of my friends went out and bought Skullcandy Skullcrushers even after I recommended these to them. Needless to say, they were disappointed; especially after both of their pairs broke after about two months. Now they finally smartened up and got some of these, along with several more of my friends. Now it's like we have a gang of Tanks, all in different colorways. In conclusion, all I really need to say is, BUY THE TANKS NOW. They will not disappoint.
I can't help but agree with everyone on here, these headphones are by far the best bang for your buck. I know people with similarly priced headphones and they just don't compare, I've even put the Tanks up against a $150 pair and they still look and sound better. I've never really willingily "wanted" to put headphones on my ear until I got these, they just make music that much more enjoyable. If you like music, especially dance music, these will become a regular fixture in your life.
I have been using a pair of tanks for about 3 months now and they are great. Great loud sound, perfect muffle, and the bass is amazing. To top off all the great qualities of these headphones is their stylish as well. I always get complements when i wear them. I recommend a pair of tanks to everyone.
Best pair of headphones iv purchased for this price. Sound quality is great for the price plenty of bass, mid's, and high's sound good. These things feel like they could survive an atomic bomb, Iv only owned them for a week but they feel very solid. These headphones are also very comfortable and don't hurt your ears like most over ears do. Great head phones im buying a second pair just incase something happens to my first. Every time i have worn them so far i have gotten complements and i always give a shout out to dogfunk.com, BUY THESE!!
I got these thinking they'd be just like any other over ear's. They definitely aren't. First off, for their price, they've got some pretty intense bass, I've put them up to several tests and they performed to no fault. They have great lows, mids, and highs. They are comfortable, versatile, and durable (I've already dropped them a few times, not even a scratch on them). I compared them to a friend's pair of Skullcandy TI's and another friend's pair of GI's, gotta say these blew them away. All in all, if you're planning on getting headphones, get these, no question.
These are the best headphones on the market for a reasonable price. These come with 57 mm drivers for both of the speakers, I wear these headphones to wrestling tournaments, and I wear these on the bus and it cuts out the annoying kids on the bus. These tanks are nothing to joke about, I got yelled at by the bus driver to silence my phone speaker or turn it down from the max when I had my headphones at max. They have good bass, highs and mids are awesome. These headphones will be the one that I buy if it breaks....which they won't, which another point comes up! These never break! I got in a fight wearing these, A kid chunked it my locker, and these continue to go. One thing I noticed was the wire that connected to the headphone shorted so I have to turn the jack abit to get it to play the sound, but I am not the most neatest and organized so with it being in my backpack that was most likely what happened. You can just always buy a female to male 3.5mm jack again, but I am a cheapbutt. Voila! Sick headphones! Enjoy them!
So I have been searching all online for the perfect pair of headphones, I was looking at skullcandy being familiar with their brand, I found reviews on these tanks. I look at these reviews and ended up going with these. Every dollar spent was worth it! These headphones are great! I get soooo many compliments on them, they are loud, they are lacking a tad bass but honestly they are darn near perfect. If you are having any doubts on buying headhphones, don't be afraid to pick these up! Oh and get these when you can when they come with a free pair of earbuds! my sister was happy to get some nice new earbuds.
When it comes to sound i am pretty picky, i have a few stereo systems and am an admitted sound junkie. That said i am surprised that in the technical spec portion the frequency response, and the sensitivity was not listed, because when you hear them you can understand, but without the numbers before you do it is hard to imagine headphones with so much bass at this price. For those of you that care here are those numbers: Fq. Res. 5 - 20 KHz, and Sensitivity (S.P.L.) 108+ - 3dB (at 1 KHz). for anyone unfamiliar with those numbers, that is well above and below the human audible range which is generally 15 to 20 Hz on the low and 10 to 12 KHz on the high side. The sensitivity was their only downfall, the mids were a little less than perfectly smooth, but all things considered that is ok given the fact that these things seem to be built just as they are dubbed, TANKS. They get 5 stars because at this price without going into an audiophile set of phones (which are very delicate, nice for a home stereo but not if they ever see the outside world, and which range in price from $50 to $10 grand) TANKS cant be beat. Everyone has an Mp3 player these days (that is what i use these for the most myself) and often dont realize that if you play these through an actual component stereo you will can achieve those highs and lows with full range, rather than with the mp3 compressed audio format, if you dont ever hear what that is like you are not giving them a chance to shine. Try to find vinyl, a good radio station, either an original cd or the first burn of it at full WAV format and if you have the right sound equipment they can be a quite the cosmic experience, whatever you do with them enjoy. I will be putting them to the test for as long as they will withstand my abuse, after which i plan to write a follow up, hopefully that will be no sooner than 5 to 15 years if they are built as tough as they look. Some suggestions for great test audio would be, Marley, Sublime, Floyd, or any digital with silly highs and lows, Keller Williams, Beck just to name a few. Grado and Seinheizer might have them beat for pure audiophile sound Quality, but then look at that price tag and realize why. Again I am picky about my sound to say the least so if any one has found another pair of headphones similar to this please post it because I think these things are effin silly, and if there is anything out there that can rival them I would love to know about them. Everything we encounter in our lives is one form of vibration or wave, do yourself a favor and get your head soaked with the vibe.
really impressed with these headphones. super bass heavy but not in a bad way. i listen to a lot of punk and metal and there good for that to. mastadon is unreal in these things. haha it also made dr dre's the chronic even better. for the price, you cant beat em.
Do the Tank's actually enclose your whole ear or more just sit on top? it looks like the ear pieces may be just too small to totally cover your ear. . . otherwise i am sold on these bad boys!
Definitely recommend these headphones! sound quality is sick and the designs are awesome. I've never had a more comfortable and useful set of headphones that work with skype, ipods, iphones, and basically everything else.
They do have black/gray headphones that are less striking. But you can get black headphones from any manufacturer. These headphones are for those who want to stand out in a crowd.
One more thing, I am a sucker for bass, and would like some headphones with wonderful bass response, but without sacrificing overall sound quality. I'll be buying some more really soon!!
How do these compare to the Skullcandy SK Pro headphones as far as sound quality and construction/durability? I can get the SK Pros at half off, and I can't decide which is the better buy.
I went through two pairs of the G.I. skullcandy's they were straight plastic crap. I switched over to Aerial7 with the Tanks and wow, night and day difference! They are put together with quality parts and come with a bag full of accessories and cords making them optimal for every electronic device!!! Engineered to deliver the highest-quality listening experience from your Apple iPod®, iPhone®, BlackBerry®, or other mp3 player, cell phone or music device. Swivel ear cup with spring return for single-sided monitoring... They are just better period. much more comfortable, I love the thick coiled cable as well. Aerial7 is just on top of it fashion wise, swagger wise, you name it.
The Tanks are a superior product, a lot of function for the $$ as well as the best quality drivers in the "lifestyle" headphone category. I would choose the Tanks.
I love the Aerial 7 headphones! They are stylish and different. Yes, I walk around with these headphones and I don't care. I have gotten lot of compliments. I also love the sound.... Get them!
I totally agree with Chad. I have a pair of these TANKS, and along with great sounding mids and highs, the bass sounds amazing. Like Chad said, the drivers are much bigger then the standard headphones so offer a heavier, fuller low end.
The bass is what sells these babies as the drivers a much larger than standard so all the lows ,mids and highs can be heard and felt with no harm to your ears
The Aerial7 Tank Headphones are, in my opinion, the best deal for the price for a solidly constructed, studio quality DJ style headphone. These things are burly, built well and have great sound quality for an over-the-ear headphone in this price range.
A friend of mine had these in white and i really liked the design, but was skeptical on how good it would sound. The second I tried them on I was super impressed with sound quality and how well the lows carried. I recently bought a pair of my own and I couldn't be happier. Seriously people, these things are worth every cent. Also I found the code FREESHIP while surfing online. So, go to aerial7.com, find the headphones you like, put in the code, and get free shipping on orders over $25!!
I can't help but agree with everyone on here, these headphones are by far the best bang for your buck. I know people with similarly priced headphones and they just don't compare, I've even put the Tanks up against a $150 pair and they still look and sound better.
