If you've ever had way too much moonshine and woken up spooning a sheep, you have a vague idea as to how soft the Airblaster Merino Wool Ninja Suit really is. Except it's a lot lighter than an actual sheep, and it smells less offensive. Four-way stretch fabric wicks away sweat and provides great freedom of movement, while the circumferential waist zip opens quickly to facilitate a different kind of movement. The ergonomic hood features seven separate panels for optimum comfort and warmth on blizzard days, and a full-length chest zip makes for easy on and off.
Bottom Line: Like uber-comfy pajamas you can wear on the hill. Unless you're not manly enough.
I think you'll be happiest with a Large. I'm 6' and slim, and my large fits with a little extra room. XL might be better for overall height, but your skinniness will leave a bunch of extra material.
The ultimate test is sitting down. So when you get it put it on, tie the waist tie, pull up the hood and take a seat like you're on a chairlift. If it's comfortable in the back/shoulders and you don't get a wedgie, you're golden!
Love this suit! I wore this all winter long, like 24/7. It kept me super warm and dry while on the slopes and the waist zipper makes it super easy to take a deuce. I'm 6' 185lbs and bought a medium. It is snug around my calves and loosens up as it goes up the leg to the chest. All in All I couldn't imagine not wearing this when I'm snowboarding.

Whenver I buy something strange like a one piece long underwear suit I am always skeptical. This suit has made me a believer in total comfort, warmth and function. I am 100% amazed at the design of this. They really thought of everything and made it function perfect. Mine does not fit me 100% how I would like but I have a strange body type so I am sue to that. It is really awesome and I am going to get another one!
I recently picked up the Zissou version of this and it is awesome. The first night I had it, I slept in it, to test its warmth out. Two thumbs up. Not only does this Ninja suit have all the great features of the normal Ninja, but it is also made with Merino wool. Merino wool smells better, and keeps you drier. I also like the idea of having a natural fiber against my skin. Just saying.
Fit wise, I am 5'11", 160lbs. I found the M to be an athletic fit, while the L was a comfy fit. I went with L, even though it was slightly loose. All depends on your preference.
I am 5'8" and just under 140 pounds, would you guys recommend a medium or small? My height would lead me to a medium, but my weight a small. I prefer an athletic fit to loose/baggy, if that helps.
This thing is amazing. One piece is the way to go!! Definitely the best protection from cold air and snow. The hood is amazing! I generate a lot of heat quickly when I start exerting, and I cool down just as fast when I stop exerting - the hood design is key -- easy up and down at any time to help me regulate temperature and stay comfy. The Merino wicks great, doesn't smell ever, and has a wide comfort range. The rear poo poo zip is super easy to use. I wear this thing camping, riding, split-boarding, snowshoeing, as pajamas, sleeping bag liner, under a drysuit while whitewater rafting in cold weather, and I'm sure I forgot some other uses. The Ninja Suit has definitely worked its way into my top 5 pieces of gear ever. It took forever for me to convince my Dad to try one (he runs hot too), but once he did (on our Grand Canyon trip) he was hooked 100%. Didn't take it off for 5 days straight. I could go on... but anyway, Ninjas rule!
5'4" 160 and falling. I tried on the ninja sumo at a local shop and found the medium and small both fit...but the small fit legthwise the best with legs and sleeves....Obviously I'm a small guy, but by no means a skinny dude. Been dropping lbs. for about two years now and I think I'm almost done. Unsure weather to go with the small or medium...Since the standard ninja is a more athletic fit, I'm not totally sure if the small will work as it did with the sumo ninja.
Since the Sumo and Merino both have similar fits (the Merino is by no means skin tight), here is what I suggest. Go try on a sumo again at your local shop - but here's the key. See how it fits when you sit down. I say this because I had a ninja that fit fine when I was standing, but gave me a wedgie when I sat down. If you're wedgie free with the small, then go with the small. Get a wedge and you know to size up.
Just got this is the mail and it's sick! Haven't riden in it yet but I can tell you that I am going to love it. I'm 6', 155 pounds and I went with the Medium. The only place that this suit is pretty much skin tight is on my calves, which is perfect since they will be going into my boots so I want them tight enough that my sock will fit over it just fine! Can't wait to ride in 9 days and test this thing out!
I'm 6ft 4" and about 200lbs - athletic build, not fat. Should I go with XL or XXL? I want to make sure the arms wont be too short to use the thumbholes comfortably
Hey Olibone, you want the XXL for sure. Like you said, you'll want the arms to be long enough. Also, with a 1 piece, you need the torso to be long enough so you dont get a wedgie when you sit down. The waist on the XXL will be loose (to fit many different body types) but there's a tie to cinch it up.
I just put my merino ninja through it's paces this past weekend and it kept me extremely comfy! FYI I'm 6 feet tall and thin and my large fits perfectly. Enjoy!
This suit is so very awesome. I have worn it 5 days and I have had it for 10 so far, It's been super chilly lately so when I wake up in the mourning and its snowing, I put it on. The best part about it is that it still doesn't smell! I have toured in it twice already and it still smells new. I feel like I just bought a yeti's fur coat. Great product hands down. It Will probably last me a good couple of years. Air blaster for life! (picture is not actually the ninja suit, close enough though.)
