If you've ever had way too much moonshine and woken up spooning a sheep, you have a vague idea as to how soft the Airblaster Backcountry.com Merino Wool Ninja Suit really is. Except it's a lot lighter than an actual sheep, and it smells less offensive.

My height - 6' 3"
My weight - 231 lbs
For me xl or xxl?
Thank you!

Best Answer Responded on

Hey Alex, thanks for your question! Backcountry.com is out of stock in this ninja suit. What are you chest and waist measurements? Grab these measurements and let me know. That will be the best way to determine your correct size. Thanks!

Responded on

My waist 41 in;
My chest width 45,5 in

Responded on

Hey Alex, thanks for your measurements. I would go with the XXL! Thanks much!

Merino wool, the wonder wool!

God I love this thing! This is my go to baselayer, I use it for everything winter. I am 170lb 6' and the medium fit me good. If my current one ever gets destroyed I won't hesitate to buy another one.

What is the fabric weight?

Responded on

It's classified as a midweight, which unfortunately doesn't help a whole lot, as different companies use the term for different weights. In my experience, midweight is usually between 220 and 260 g/m.

So I'm 5'8" 125, with a lanky runner build. I'm not one of those people who "claim" to have a runner build, I actually do. My wrists are like twigs... But that's beside the point. I have a 30" waist, and 32" inseam, what size should I go for?

Responded on

Snop--I would recommend size Small. I'm 5'8" 175, 32-33 inch waist, and wear a Medium. It fits how I like it, which is tight enough to function/wick, but with enough room to lounge afterwards without being in a skin tight louge suit or something. The Ninja Suit definitely shines as equally as an apre piece as it does for functional base layer! Anyway, I think that a Small would fit you like that, not super tight. An XS would probably even work if you want it snugger. Since the fabric is 4-way stretch, the XS should accommodate your frame fine. The only dimension NOT super stretchy is the waist/hips, due to the waist zipper. Everywhere else on the suit, there is plenty of room to stretch to accommodate varying shapes. So if you are slimmer build, and want it snug, I would size down one size from your normal. Hope that helps. The Ninja Suit rules, and with BC.com's return policy, you have no reason not to check one out and make sure the size is right!

Fit is great and accurate

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I'm 5'8" 155 with a 41" chest (you know? a Real-Man's Chest) size chart suggested a medium and that is right. I am comfortable, not too tight.
I have only used it for a Halloween party so I can't comment on what it's like to ride in it yet...

Ninja Suit

Official cold weather wear of ninjas everywhere. More Beta on sizing: I'm 6' 3" wear 32 in Volcom pants and the large fits just right.

Do you know if the ninja suit is bulletproof? Is it flame retardant? Will the sheep recognize me or be able to see me at all in the suit?

Best Answer Responded on

Hey Woolie, thanks for your question. Merino fiber is naturally flame retardant, the wool will ignite at a very very high temperature. This ninja is not bulletproof. I believe the sheep would recognize you in this suit. Hope this helps!

Oh shoot. Sizing Chart. Um, ok so I'm 6' , with a 30" waist, but weigh only 135. The chart has me juggling medium and large; medium for my waist but large for my height. Help?

Responded on

I'd go with a medium. Better to have the legs a little short than the whole suit flopping around. Check out the Stoic 1-Z suits as well. Stoic stuff tends to be designed for lanky people, which sounds like you, based on your description. If that doesn't work, you may just have to go with two separate pieces. You could sew on some buttons or something to make them fit together...

Responded on

I got the medium, and after much wearing, the waist is low, but you DO NOT notice it. the legs feel comfortable, stopping in my lower calves. Totally love it in fact. This is a great product.

how is the fit in the torso (length) on these? I usually have trouble with one piece because all my height is in my torso. I'm 6'4" but my pant inseam is only a 32".. size rec?

its awesome.... but theres room for improvement

these things are great! so comfortable and warm for how thin the material is. the zippered "poop chute" is great for when lunches didn't sit well and you need to back one out in a hurry! (airblaster if your reading this) i do wish that the zipper went the whole way around so you could separate the chest from the legs... same goes for the hood, sometimes i wear it but when I'm not it bunches up on my back/shoulders... def worth buying

i just received my ninja suit, and im sure im going to like .... but! Who goes number 2 without going number 1? A man can't possibly do this while sitting down and the suit doesn't allow it hmmm ... serious question by the way

Best Answer Responded on

A man can maneuver himself to aim into the toilet while seated. There's enough room to arrange the proper angle of the dangle if you unzip the waist all the way.

Responded on

I call it the tuck and squirt! Step one: unzip the waist zip and pull any under layers down enough. Step two: as you squat or sit, tuck your man member downward. Maybe a little difficult the first time, but proficiency is quickly achieved with a little practice.

Responded on

Ahh, the good ol' tuck 'n squirt.

Responded on

Why don't you just go #1 before you go #2? Problem solved....unless of course, #2 is actually the real #1 when we go "#2". Is it not? After all, whenever I go #2, 99 percent of the time I immediately follow up with #1. I've probably just confused most people reading this, who didn't think I'd turn a review comment thread into a philosophical discussion...but there it is anyway. Deal with it...or provide a pithy response. The latter is preferred.

Keep on having fun.

Great product ... What's not to like?

I think that Airblaster did a great job with this suit. It keeps the cold breeze off my skin on the bike or on foot. It is also great to have long underwear that doesn't have to be removed for pit stops.

You could live in this

This suit is awesome and give it 4.5 stars based on fit and function. The merino wool isn't as soft as Ice Breaker or some of the other merino brands but I used some wool softener and now it's butter.

How do I get the blue and red one shown in the pictures? That's the one that I want.

Indispensable

I wear this anytime I need long underwear. I don't even touch "separates" anymore. The waist zip design makes going to the bathroom just as convenient as two pieces, but the one-piece design of the Ninja Suit is superior in every way. I own an older synthetic version of the Ninja Suit, but the Merino is definitely the go-to unit. Merino rules. I'm 5'8" 175lbs and a Medium is the right size for me. I could probably wear a small, but it would be pretty tight.

It's good for both. I use merino for everything from snowshoeing to hiking to running to sleeping and everything in between. This piece is especially nice because of its flexibility.

Which is the warmest material? Polyester/spandex blend or Merino wool? I ski and do los of sports, but I need max warmth as I have been diagnosed w/ severe circulatory problems leaving me w/ frostbite and quick onset of these symptoms. Idon't want to have to quite skiing, snowboarding etc... I just need to stay on top of my warmth and then I will be fine... Also what would you reccommend for just daily long underwear during our winter? Silk? Something that I can wear under my regular blue jeans etc...

Best Answer Responded on

In my opinion merino wool is a little warmer than synthetics, but it is wool's other properties that made the decision for me. Merino feels thin when worn, but with layers it is amazing. It also breathes very well and, amazingly enough, seems to adjust with the temperature. For example, I wear a merino light jacket in temperatures ranging from the low 40s to the mid 70s and feel comfortable. The best thing about merino is that it has the great ability to keep the stink at bay. This may sound gross, but I can go for a week in the mountains with a couple merino shirts and come home smelling like a rose where I need at least one synthetic for each day. As you can tell I really like merino, but I truly believe that it is a miracle material. The one thing that may be a downer is that merino will be a little more expensive than synthetics. Hope this helps.
