i've been thinking about getting this jacket for a bit now but im not sure if it would be durable enough to handle a couple seasons of abuse, do you think i should go with this coat or the danny sig jacket if i want a really warm jacket that will fit loose?

Yes it will, AG does not make crappy product. You can run this jacket year over year for sure. It is super warm and the vents will keep you at the best temperature all the time.

I am usually an L in analog/burton wear, but when I tried on this years Asset jacket the arms were a bit too short. Would the alkaline have the same measurements as the asset jacket? Should I size up to XL

6'2" 175 pounds.

They should have the same sizing between each of those jackets, so I would run the XL to make sure your wrists are covered.

Wore this jacket maybe 6 times, & the fabric began to fray when edges of the snowboard rubbed against it (when carrying board). Not very sturdy material. Had to return it. Stayed very warm though, with just a t-shirt underneath, when riding chairs in blizzard conditions. Zippers are bomb proof. Sweet style too. Just not impressed with its longevity due to fabric.

Sweet style, Poor fabric.

The Analog puffy has always been on point. Not losing any momentum on their design, and tech, this Alkaline down is amazing. Great hand feel, 600 fill down, 15k WP, enough to keep you warm and dry in any condition in North America, or NZ, or Chile, whereve's. Zoom in on this Bi***.
