Hey Vincent, yes outseam is the outside of the pants/shorts, from hip down. Inseam is on the inside of the pants/shorts, from the crotch down.

I got a pair of the grey. Very nice material. Lower inseam than most shorts, but easily have become one of my favorites. I usually wear a 32-33 but snaged a 34 on whiskeymillitia and they fit perfectly. Analog pants usually run a little smaller than other brands.

Really dig these shorts. They have a nice soft handle to them and the gray goes with just about anything. Good length to them, not too long but not too short and they've withstood a lot of washings.
