Description

The skies opened up and the mortals were blessed with a new tool for getting rad.

The mortals demanded a better bindings of the gods and they delivered the Bent Metal Mortal Binding. In Norse circles, it was also known as the 'Gungnir,' or Odin's Spear. Makes sense, as they used it to slay parks, pillows, and whatever else they saw fit to destroy. The new-found response and power also gave them the agility they needed to avoid hungry saber-tooth tigers on the way down to the bone zone.

  • Lightweight highback is heavily cored out to shave weight while not compromising strength or lateral flex
  • Full-length EVA highback padding cushions from your heel to your calf
  • Canted footbed covers the disk with a subtle angle that alleviates pressure on your knees caused from ducked out stances
  • Rubber dampening under the baseplate absorbs chatter from the bolts up
  • Adjustable toe and heel ramp can be fine-tuned to make toe and heel drag a thing of the past
  • Aluminum heel loop adds lightweight and low-profile structure while boasting a high strength-to-weight ratio
  • Asymmetric ankle strap ramps up the lateral support for providing power into your turns while the opposite end is designed to encourage natural movement for effortless pressing; dense EVA padding and inverse seam construction work together to cut fatigue-causing pressure out of the picture
  • Toe Gap rollover toe strap lets you choose to run it over the top or around the front of your boot and features a cored out mid-section to eliminate material and provide a snug wrap
  • Tri-axial mounting disk fits four-hole insert patterns only

Good bindings, good price.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I got these bindings for a second park board and they work great! A fore-warning that the paint on the forward-lean device located on the back of the high-back will chip a bit with use, but this does not affect the performance of the binding.

Very simple design, just step in and ratchet them up and you're ready to go.

The only word of advice I would give on these is that if you have smaller feet, be sure to tighten the ratchets down as tight as they will get. Otherwise, I've noticed them get loose mid-run if I don't tighten them all the way.

Good bindings, good price.

Great Bindings

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I'm loving these bindings. They are very solid and comfortable. I've used them at least 5 times now on 2 different boards. The only issue I have had is sometimes it's tough to take off the toe buckle but that was only one in every 8 runs or so. I haven't seen any signs of wear yet.

These bindings are very excellent and well worth the great deal Backcountry gives you.

Broke the first day riding...

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

... the plastic strap release mechanism broke on my first ride of the day... luckily the adjuster on the opposite side of the top strap clips off easily or i would have had to cut it off... need less to say, i spent the rest of the day readjusting, etc... what a pain in the a$$.. you get what you pay for, so don't expect too much.

Rad Ride

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift

I got these bindings for my sister who is an advanced snowboarder. She LOVES them. They are easy to get in and out of, and quick to respond. She was surprised by how lightweight they are and thinks they are a great match with any boot.
