Bern Baker EPS Visor Audio Helmet with Knit Liner - 2011

When Seth Wescott first rocked the Baker helmet during the 2006 games, people started waking up to Bern's style and design. Since then, Bern has upped the tech and included features like audio to make the 2011 Baker EPS Visor Audio Helmet with even more protection and a better fit. So whether you're playing in the snow, in the skate park, or on your way to the snowboard cross championship, feel free to rock the Baker with confidence.

  • Lightweight EPS foam evenly distributes energy throughout its internal structure so less force hits your skull when you take a spill
  • Molded goggle channel keeps your lenses in place without bunching or slipping
  • Removable knit liner keeps you warm when winter tries to freeze you out, and you can pull it out when summer heat begs a cooler lid
  • Liner-integrated audio slams sound from your media player straight into your ears
  • Sink Fit design means that this lid fits around your head (rather than just sitting on top) so you get a better fit and a sleeker look
  • The Clip Snap-In system secures your liner to your helmet simply and quickly

Bottom Line: It all depends on where you feel like going.

Awesome Helmet, built very sturdily. HOWEVER, the audio auxiliary cord shorted out after only a month. So plan on getting a new one.

Last time I bought a bern muse "helmet" it arrived

Last time I bought a bern muse "helmet" it arrived with a disclaimer saying it was a hard hat, the difference being helmets are made to protect your noggin against an extreme impact but the foam takes the impact so it has to be replaced whereas a hard hat is built for multiple less severe impacts but the foam won't crumble everytime. I want something that will keep my head safe in the event of a severe impact. So, dogfunk gurus or anyone with an authoritative response, will this "helmet" do the job of a helmet?

My question is about overheating in this sexy beast. This model

My question is about overheating in this sexy beast. This model doesn't look to have vents on top, does it get nasty hot? I love the color scheme, just don't want to have to shelf it once it gets a bit warmer.

yes they are replaceable but the thing is that the cord breaks very easily so if its just the headphone piece that breaks, save the cord.
