One photo of this helmet shows a short...
One photo of this helmet shows a short visor in plaid, another photo shows a long fleece thing that sticks way out in front and bends up ward. Which is it?
this has to be my favorite piece of new gear this season. i ordered the linsdsey jacobellis grey. i had the muse hard hat so i already new that bern's fit me well and went ahead and ordered this helmet in the same size. took it out to snowbird and had an awesome time. love the fact that my ears are no longer being squished by ear buds. you can hear things around you and your music which i like, unlike wearing a helmet with earbuds. the helmet definitely keeps my head toasty even sans beanie underneath. i also get a lot of compliments on it. all in all i'm very happy with my helmet :)
I like the look of the helmet, the sound quality, and the fit. The only thing I have a problem with is that after going down Peruvian at Snowbird my ears were already hurting. I don't know if I have huge ears or if the speakers are just not in a good spot. Other than that I did smack my head pretty hard and I am not comatose, and I can remember my name, so for that it's great!
Love this helmet. bought it for a trip up to sun valley. the sound works great and you can even adjust the volume with a control on the audio cord while your riding. The lining kept my head warm in 8 degree weather.
Go with the visor, not the hunter.
I accidentally ordered the visor helmet on this site, thinking I was getting the hunter plaid, so I quickly ordered the hunter on another site (dogfunk didn't have it instock). My plan was to return the visor one and keep the new hunter one on the way, but once I got both in the mail and tried them on....the visor version looked waaay better! I thought the furry hunter look would be cute, and it probably would if the fuzzy flap on the front actually stayed up....the problem is that it's not attached to anything on the front of the helmet so it either sticks out away from the helmet, or falls in your face. I don't recommed buying the hunter until Bern improves the way it attaches to the helmet. If you want the hat look under the helmet - go with the plaid visor. The audio is absolutely great too...definitely worth the extra $20.
