Description

A year-round, multisport brain bucket.

From June to January and back around the calendar, the Bern Macon EPS Thin Shell Helmet is multisport protection for your delicate dome. Beginning with a skate-inspired ABS hard shell, Bern then adds EPS, a lightweight, one-time-use foam that evenly distributes force in the event of a high-impact crash. And at 20% lighter than previous models, it's rugged protection that won't distract from your pursuit of big air and sick tricks. Bern's Signature Shape makes for a lower profile look than standard snow helmets, and the ergonomic fit means it comfortably cushions your head instead of perching on top of it. From season to season, the Macon will keep you shielded and secure against the knocks, dings, and damage of year-round fun.

  • Thin Shell construction
  • EPS foam
  • Adjustable chin strap
  • Thin, low profile
  • Includes Summer Comfort liner

Perfect!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I am extremely picky about my helmets. My mountain bike is my main mode of transportation and I use it for adventures in many kinds of weather. I am not into racing so I did not really care about the helmet being aerodynamic, but more about safety. Yes, just like any bike helmet it sits on your head like a giant mushroom, but are we really here for a fashion show? This helmet, (XL, 24" head), covers top of course, forehead, sides and down the base of your skull. It is extremely comfortable, easy to adjust and the inside liner comes out so that you can wash it. You also have options to purchase additional liners for different types of weather.

Now with this all being said, I will be putting this baby through the wringer this next week, but I really do not see any issues. When I first got it I was out that day hitting trails and had no problems.
