This jacket is awesome! Super warm and stylish. I am 5'11'' and ordered the large. The jacket comes down to mid thigh so its a bit longer but that's the way i like it. The sleeves are the perfect length and aren't baggy. I love the pocket on the left sleeve by the cuff. Perfect for phone, debit card, and chap stick. I have not used it on the slopes but is absolutely perfect for me as street wear.

What size would fit me best, M or L? I dont want too baggy fit, but also afraid that M size would be too short.
chest 108 cm
waist 80 cm
height 180 cm
You are a little large for the Medium so I am going to say stick with the Large.

can this be used as an outer or is it not waterproof enough?
I would highly advise against using anything that is down-filled has waterproof protection. If a storm did come, you would not only get sopping wet within, likely, minutes, but the jacket would gain an enormous amount of water weight, due to the harboring of water by the down fill. I would look into more specialized or specific waterproof garments, rather than bank on this jacket keeping you dry for more than a quick, light drizzle that you could rapidly escape.
Down garments in general are meant to keep one warm and dry, provided the down garment itself does not come under some sort of aquatic duress.
Does it have the magnets instead of snaps...
Does it have the magnets instead of snaps for the zipper sheild?
I scoured the web, but to no avail. However, if I were to take a stab at the answer, I would have to guess that it is likely snaps. I gander this is the case, because I believe that if the zipper shield had such a notable feature, it would be mentioned as part of the sell pitch.
If you are asking this question because it is likely you will purchase, you might try calling Billabong themselves, but the information you listed doesn't seem to produce any website hit with details regarding the zipper shield.
