Burton AK 2L LZ Down Jacket - Men's - 09/10 - 2009

If you get cold or wet when you wear the Burton Men's AK 2L LZ Down Jacket, you should get a Nobel Prize or something because it’s pretty much impossible. When you're taking trips to the most hostile winter environments, this lightweight Burton down jacket provides bunker-type waterproofing and warmth, and gives you a base-camp layer that insulates you from freezing temperatures without taking up all the room in your pack. Worn by the toughest big mountain riders on the planet—guys like Jones, Haakonson, and Oksanen—it’s no surprise that the Burton AK 2L LZ Down Jacket is a flagship piece in Burton's technical AK line.

  • Two-layer Gore-Tex Performance Shell material is guaranteed to keep you dry, and high-loft goose down gives you warmth and total comfort without weighing you down
  • Water-resistant RiRi AQUAzip zippers
  • Underarm zips help regulate your temperature, while the waist gaiter and pant-to-jacket interface lock out snow.
  • Fully seam-taped with Gore Seam Tape for ultimate waterproof protection
  • LINK ZIP pants-to-jacket interfaces with Burton jackets to completely keep snow out
  • Fulltime Contour hood offers superb low-profile protection and is engineered to move with the direction of your neck and head
  • Burton Sig fit is loose for optimum mobility, but not gangster with bunches of extra fabric
  • Articulated sleeves and adjustable cuff closures to improve mobility

Bottom Line: Burton's cold weather fortress.

I bought the last year model early on this season and really love it. It is warm, soft and super light. Will buy another when mine gets older.

I am interested in the True Black Jacquard model.I checked and on burton.com the same model seems to have the big zipper, and the one from the big front pocket, white. in your picture it appears to be black.wich one is it?is it white or black?

The Jacquard color way has the white outline around the zipper. The true black color way has an all black zipper and outline. The Burton site is more accurate. Both styles have a "big" zipper. It is Burton's riri zippers, heavy duty waterproofing zippers.

from a windblown -18 F on Strattons Summit to 35F and sunny, walking to Work in NYC, this jacket rules!

size small fits my 5'4" 135pd frame perfectly with room for my body armor when shredding or a sweater(no need for those anymore).

Love mine!

Jake's Favorite!

Love this jacket and so does Jake! It's literally his favorite in the line. Sleeping bag like liner makes you feel warm and cozy on the coldest days. My girlfriend loves the jacket so much she literally wears mine around the house!!! Killer fit, I'm 6'1 and rock a large, not too huge but a baggy loose fit. Insulated music pocket works perfect and the jacket will not only insulate but keep you DRY as it's gore!!!!! I have the black jacquard color but really dig the sorcerer as well! If you're the rider who needs to shred warm all day, but not look like the Michelin man while doing it!!! Oh yeah, did I mention the lifetime warranty?

best jacket you'll ever buy

By:

This is hands down the most comfortable, best fitting piece of outerwear I've ever owned. Putting it on is like sliding into a down sleeping bag that weighs next to nothing. The fabric is Gore-tex so when it's time to shred balls-deep pow in 10 degree weather, you're dialed all day long. My favorite thing about this jacket besides the sick color (the sorcerer blue really pops!) and comfort is the perfect fit. I've had a hard time with Burton's inconsistent sizing over the past two seasons but they got it right this time. I'm about 5'10" and 160 lbs and a men's size small fits me perfectly - not too baggy, not too snug, with the length just long enough to cover the goods. This jacket is just one reason why Burton makes the best outerwear in snowboarding. you can't go wrong with AK.
