Description

Versatile, tough as balls, and made by Burton. What more could you ask?

Great for backcountry shredding and riding in varying temperatures, the Burton Men's Approach Mitten features a waterproof shell and a removable fleece liner. Slide your fingers into the Approach Mitt's pre-curved design and cinch the short gauntlet down to keep out the snow. When you get toasty hiking for your lines, pull out the fleece liner and then put it back in when you're ready to drop in. After a few face shots cake up on your goggles, use the Burton Approach Mitt's goggle wipe to clear your lens and then go back for more.

Ok so I keep hearing that these gloves have a fleece liner! But does the mitt itself have fleece lining? So I can wear just the shell!?

The it is a shell fabric that comes with a removable fleece liner.

Do the insides of these mittens have the finger canals or is it all open inside? Also what mittens do you recommend these approach ones or the Gortex? These seem to be more durable....

Responded on

You can not go wrong with Gore-Tex gloves. These are great for the price but Gore-Tex is amazing. no these mitts do not have the finger canals.

Burton Mittens

I agree that these are not very warm mittens. I didn't think I'd like the glove like liners, but they are very cozy and soft. But this is a warm weather or spring condition mitten.

are the liners mittens or gloves?

Great mits

These keep my hands dry and warm without letting them get sweaty. The inner linings are a huge plus too on those days when its 10 degrees warmer on the sunny side of the mountain

Great buy!

These mittens are so warm. The inner fleece glove is so soft and warm. I wish they had the vent, but you can always buy the Gore-Tex model to get that option..Great buy for a great glove

Pretty sweet, really warm. Durable pretty cheap for the quality. Really water-proof too.

Burton mittens

These are great. I got them for my son who always gets very cold fingers when skiing or boarding. We are in Beaver Creek, CO right now and he loves them. They also look great with his Burton Jacket.

Very roomy (XL), but...

These are nice mitts. I like how roomy they are even with the liners on, but this also means that they aren't as warm as I would have liked. I sent them back and got the Gore-Tex mitts instead which seem to be a lot warmer. The liners for these mitts are pretty toasty though they look very cheap since the seams are huge, though they're on the outside of the liners so you don't feel them. The mitt without any liners would not be sufficient to keep your hands warm.
The over build quality is very nice and they seem like they'll hold up pretty well. But as mentioned, even with the liners my hands got noticeably cold at around 20 degrees.
