Does your overly insulated jacket have your body temp up and your performance down? Then need this pill for male enhan ... oops, sorry; just confused this piece with our other job. OK, back on track. What it sounds like you need is the Burton Men's Arctic Insulated Jacket, but not because of its ability to put pep in your pipe. Unlike those overly insulated jackets that make you sweat like a man with a chemically-enhanced libido, the Arctic has just the right amount of insulation with the added tickle of sherpa fleece (since you like to keep the extra layers to a minimum).

I am considering buying this jacket, but I am unsure about sizing. I read in an earlier post that Burton jackets run big, is this true? My bf is 5'10 and 165... I usually buy him large tshirts and they fit pretty loose. Since there is only M and XL, I am wondering what size to get?

I've gone through many of jackets in the 12 seasons I have been riding. This jacket is top notch! It's the most comfortable jacket I have ever worn. Not only is the inside of the jacket comfortable but the outer material is nice and soft. I purchased one at the beginning of the winter and then purchased a 2nd one this summer because it was on sale. The only downfall to the jacket is, the seam along the upper back will allow chilly air to pass through so you have to layer on super cold days, which shouldn't be a problem.
Is this a full body insulation or only arms?

this has Burton's "trail mapping" insulation which pust different layers and thickness of differing material to ensure warmth and breathability while keeping the jacket lite and flexible.

Extra warm sherpa full body line will keep you cozy on and off the hill. Sherpa gives the look and feel of lamb's wool and combines low profile warmth and the ability to keep you dry while being super soft. Retro hunting style with a soft worn hand.
It's not real thick but it's warmer than their Poacher jackets. I really like Burton jackets but I think they're always lightweight. I'm sure this jacket will do when it's in the 30s, maybe 20s. If it's colder than that, Burtons run big, so it's still comfortable with a sweater or thermal underneath.

This jacket is a 10K / 10K with a sherpa pile line on the inside and 40 grams of insulation.

This jacket is awesome. I have not yet used it for snowboarding but i have used it for snow removal in the mountains of colorado. I was shoveling for 3hrs straight in heavy snow and did not get wet at all and never got cold. When i did start to heat up after non stop shoveling i just popped open the pit vents and i instantly cooled off. Also the way the hood tightens to your unique head shape is awesome. I'm 5'5 with the upper body of someone 5'9 (i have very short legs) and the large fits perfect
