Description

All-terrain slashing specialist.

If high-speed groomers, chest-deep tree stashes, and steep, technical lines are your addiction of choice, the Burton Barracuda Snowboard's tapered shape, directional S-Rocker profile, and snappy-yet-floaty flex pattern will plaster a poop-eating grin on your face any time you ride it.

  • S-Rocker hybrid profile uses camber from behind your front foot to the tail for stability, and a rockered nose that naturally rises when weighted for next-level float
  • Triax fiberglass with carbon I-beam for a responsive, reactive ride and plenty of pop
  • Frostbite edges extend slightly out from the binding zones for improved grip in firm snow conditions
  • Superfly II core with Dualzone EGD for lightweight pop and quick energy transfer to your edges
  • Directional, slightly tapered shape for easy turn initiation and tons of float in deep snow
  • Sintered WFO comes pre-infused with wax for mind-bending speed
  • Dual-angle 10:45 sidewalls resist impact from rocks, logs, and stumps lurking under the snow

I'm 6' 1" and have the 165. It's my first rocker board so I may be a little biased towards camber boards, but it feels like it's cracked in front of my front foot. Getting off the chairlift, especially if there's a big ramp, feels like I'm trying to balance on a lunch tray. Other than that it rides OK, I'd like to try the longer version.

153cm Burton Barracuda with burton cartel EST bindings. 1-2 ft of powder and the Barracuda couldn't glide on the pow any lighter. Groomers shoot this board down the mountain with great control and little chatter, and with this set up I've had it going over 60mph. I love this board.

How long do these deals last? or do they just get better when the stock gets lower?

I just pulled the trigger on. A lib tech %40 off, they sell pretty quick and sizes become very limited. I would make the move sooner rather than later.

rode on this (with cartel EST bindings) for 1 day on about a foot of day old Heavenly pow. Instantly fell in love with this board. i'm 5'6", 130 lb and sized down to a 149. I never got stuck even in heavy knee high pow. This board was very stable on both crusty groomers and crunchy tracked out snow at end of day at high speeds.

The only thing left to test is some kiddie park runs that i typically do, then I will graduate this board to my daily workhorse to replace my '05 153cm salomon forecast. this board is just so much more nimble while retaining great stability. LOVE IT!!!

caution: this board might be too fast as i got multiple speeding tickets for the first time :(

This board is really nice. I had a supermodel and got this, I think this its easier to ride, with not as "catchy" edges due to the rocker in the front. Rides really well. I downsized as reccomended by burton. Im 6.1 155lbs and ride the 157 only in backcountry areas and powder, and it holds up extremely well on all but waist deep pow. Even then, if its steep enough, it rides fine. Great board, I have the Diode bindings and those are insanely good as well. Super light combo if you must carry your board up hill. Burton continues to make excellent products. But this board is a definitely winner. 5 stars for sure.

A spin on the fish and a redesign of the Malolo, the Barracuda is four wheel drive for front, side, and backcountry, Nug Reductional allows you to downsize 2-3 cm from your normal length board and the S-Rocker shape gives your that effortless float on the heaviest of days. A mid level flex allows the Barracuda to be soft, playful, and a freestyle spin to a directional, tapered board.

I'm about 6'5" tall and weigh about 215. I normally ride a 172cm board that's pretty wide for my size 13 boot. Is this board compatible for my size?
