The Pro-level freestyle powerhouse

Burton's Cartel EST Binding has a loyal following among those who charge hard in every condition. The nylon composite base plate blends precise response with enough give to take the sting out of harsh landings, and the Living Hinge provides added lateral roll for powerful ollies and tweaked grabs. The one piece high back can be set up with zero forward lean for a progressive park stance, or you can crank up the lean for ripping the pipe and laying down euro carves. So if you're riding a board with Burton's The Channel mounting system, strap yourself in and see what all the fuss is about.

  • Canted asymmetrical Zero-Lean Hi Back
  • EST baseplate featuring The Hinge and 30% short glass/nylon construction
  • Removable AutoCANT SensoryBED cushioning system
  • Reactstrap asymmetrical heel strap
  • Gettagrip Capstrap toe strap
  • Smooth Glide buckles
  • Tool-free forward lean adjust
  • Compatible with The Channel mounting system only

Very Nice Binding, Need more colors.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I did a lot of research on bindings. I had gone with Burton Channel system, so I was looking for a great EST Binding. These Bindings worked perfect. I felt comfortable all day in them, never hit any pressure points. I felt that they had good response. Before taking them out make sure you take all the steps to adjust them to fit you and your boot. These had all the adjustments I needed to fit my size 9 boot in a MED. Binding. Only thing I did not like is the few colors to choose from seemed lacking for character.

Horrible Adjustment

These are probably great bindings however if you aren't smack in the middle range of the size range expect problems. There is no heelcup adjustment like Unions and other companies, instead you have to move the actual binding forward, which makes for a weird feel because you are still not centered in the binding, these are the only bindings that made me frustrated when snowboarding, if they had an adjustable heel cup i would buy them again, but for now i'm sticking to Unions.

To anyone reading this guys review, do not listen to this r-tard. In order to adjust these bindings you first off have to be smarter than a full blown dipshit. If you have a board with the channel, your options of adjustment are endless. Even without, you would not need to move the entire binding forward. You are just to stupid to figure out the underfoot adjustments aksnwboarded.

Im a size 11 so i can use a M or a L, the large doesnt work well, reviews arent always suppose to be the good about stuff, its an honest review, calm down. I spend a lot of time adjusting my bindings, i always have them set up perfectly for me, these bindings were difficult to fit to my boots, i dont like that, get over it.

Trust me, Buy!!!

This binding is excellent! Comfy and just flawless all around the mountain. Definitely will continue to ride cartels and keep ordering my stuff from backcountry.

Great Bindings!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Very responsive and great binding overall. I have a burton flying v custom est board and upgraded from p.1's to these est bindings and man what a difference. More responsive and handle so much better. I got a medium. My shoe size is 9 and they fit perfectly. They hold my foot in perfectly and have to do no adjustments while I'm riding. I usually don't buy brand new, but I felt the need to spoil myself and I have no complaints with these.

Would cartel est fitted with Burton 06-07 feelgood snowboard?
if so, what size should I get? my size is Women 7.5

As long as your Feelgood has the channel system, then yes. But if it's a normal 3 or 4-hole board, then you'll need to go with a pair of bindings that aren't EST compatible.

Size wise, you would want to go with a Small since they are a more men's specific binding. But if you go with a pair of women's specific bindings I'd recommend going with a Medium just to make sure your straps are sitting where they need to.

They also sell a conversion kit @$20.00 to adapt to a four hole system. They came with my EST's. I don't know if they automatically come with them anymore or not. I have the EST's and the Reflex, both are solid rippers.

I'm wondering measurement of the narrowest point between the sides where the heel of your boot would be? My boots have to be squished into my current bindings at the heel. Thanks.

Even if you are one of those who is anti Burton, you should give these a try at some point. Reliability is key, and with the Cartel, this is what you are buying. A binding that will last, be comfortable, and meet the needs of any rider. Give them a try, see what you think!

Major Improvements

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

For those of you who have been stung by sub par cartels in the past, fear not, the new cartels are a vast improvement on the previous model. The missions were always the better binding in contrast to the cartels in the past, however the cartels makeover was fruitful. A softer high back and additional cushion on the foot bed makes for a nice platform for park riding or a day in the back country. These are the best all around bindings and won't let you down. There is really no need to spend the extra money on Burtons super high end bindings. Also if you are just making the shift to EST, welcome to the best decision you ever made.
