Cloak and dagger meets Snowbird, Utah in the Burton Women’s Cherish Jacket. This trenchcoat-esque waterproof Burton coat hangs a little low and offers ample room for spinning your way through the air. Thermacore insulation keeps you warm as you spy foreign operatives poaching the treelines, and zippered cuff gussets and a waist gaiter block snow from penetrating your perimeter as you give chase. A satin lining on the inside glides over your underlayers and mesh-lined Underarm zips allow heat to escape. - Fall 2008.

This jacket is really hard to get hold of in the UK but eventually managed to get hold of a black one ( I really6 wanted the chestnut cord) and I LOVE IT!!!!
Comfortable slightly loose fit which I like and very good quality. I couldn't be happier.

I'm 5'5" and about 128. Should I get a medium or a small? I usually wear smalls... but I really don't want this jacket to be to tight because I'm going to be using it for skiing and snowboarding.
Well Allison I wear a medium and Im similar in size. One thing I would say is that if you usually wear smalls in clothing I would just ask yourself this. Are the smalls you wear tight or are they baggy? If they are loose than you would probably wear a small, however, if they are tight I would go for the medium because like you said you want it to be loose for shredding.
Arms 2 Tight
I read the reviews n ordered small. The coat fit great everywhere xcept the arms. The were 2 tight with just a thin long sleeve tee. I'm 5'2" n 112 lbs. I took a poll n everyone agrees that my arms are not fat. The black fabric, style n other features are awesome.
It's an awesome jacket! It fits wonderfully and there is enough room to layer which is always great.

riding the back alley on the way to lunch at the lodge.
does the job
i have to say this jacket does the job and has been my go to jacket for the season. i like that the jacket fits a little longer(past the bum) and is a little roomy. like others have said, it's baggy but not too baggy. i am 5'8 and i ordered a large and like the fit. i just wish i could have ordered a large in black.

does this jacket have a hood and about how far down does it go...like past the butt or just above it? its for my mom and she is very picky about these sorts of things.
Excellent price, excellent jacket. Much loved by my wife!
Wife loves the Jacket
My wife loves this jacket. She said it has a Womanly touch. She also said it is very warm in extreme climates and she wishes that all of her winter gear was made from the same materials. They are beautiful, lightweight, and never gets too warm or too cold! She is 105lbs and the XS fits perfectly. The only thing that could have been better is if the jacket were Sig or Slim fit, but it is relaxed fit!
I'm about 5'3" and 110 lbs and the XS fits nice--roomy in the chest & waist area, more fitting on my hips. Definitely worth the $50 sale price I paid, but I probably would have liked to know that it was a "Team Relaxed Fit." I expected it to be fitted and it wasn't, but the long length and long sleeves are great. True black is this cool textured fabric, not cord like the white or brown. Buttons are kind of hard but overall it's still an awesome jacket.
I just used this jacket in some super windy, foggy [and a little snowy] conditions and it kept me dry and warm so I'm really happy with it.
I love the coat except the one thing, it is white. I wanted white but after a couple of days the sleeves are dingy. I didn't think that it would get dirty so fast. I don't even ski or board and you would think it would stay cleaner longer. This coat is true to the size, so don't order any larger for layering. It will swallow you up.

I am 5' 1" about 115, should I be getting the XS or S?
Small if you need some room for layering ...but if you don't layer and want a slightly more fitted style you could go with the XS.
really cute jacket. I am between medium and large and the large was a better fit for my style. But the medium would have been probably the fit most people typically would have wanted. The length is great, about finer tip length area. Keep that touche warm for winter. Looks great for casual wear also.
Don't hesitate to purchase
I really wasn't sure what to expect when I got this jacket (I bought the white). I took it out of the bag and it was SO super soft. I loved it right away. Once I put it on, I loved it even more. I am a true size medium and this jacket fit perfect - and leaves a little room for layers. I am 5'10" and the sleeves are perfect for me if not long. For me, this is not a big deal as it's hard to find a coat with long enough sleeves sometimes. I can see how it would be a bit snug around the hips/butt for some, but it fit well on me (size 8). The only thing I wish this jacket had was a way to tighten it a bit around the waist, but I am not complaining.
Is this jacket suitable for snowboarding...
Is this jacket suitable for snowboarding?
Its waterproof and breathable... and made by Burton, so those are three things that are helpful for snowboarding :) But its not the highest of either, so its not as intense as so jackets on the market. Additionally, if you look at the specs there is a powderskirt, which helps to keep snow out of the knickers. Unless you are prone to rolling around on the ground or board in an incredibly wet locale, this will do decently for boarding!
It has a Zipper -- Buttons are fake/for display
Hey! I was nervous about ordering the jacket but when I got it, it has a MAIN ZIPPER -- the buttons you see in the photos are fake and for display. I ordered the white version of the jacket - 5'3", 110 pounds, in a SMALL and it fit great -- it's a "Burton Team Relaxed Fit" so I was able to wear layers underneath. Kept me warm, too, for early season riding.
I really really like the tropical green color and the feminine but still loose fit, but the button closures are a PAIN. even doing them up without gloves is difficult and it's a little frustrating. everything else about the jacket I love; the length, the fit the color, but because of those buttons, I will probably be exchanging it for something else.

I measured for a small, but should i get a size bigger so I can layer underneath the jacket?
No, I would probably say stick to a small... unless you are on the larger side of small. It does have 60 grams of insulation so you shouldn't have to layer too too much underneath.
Maybe a bonded fleece and some thermals and you should stay toasty warm!
That is of course unless you live in an igloo... do you live in an igloo?

is it insiluated at all of is it just a rain shield??
yes, it has 60 grams of thermacore insulation... Should keep you nice and warm.
fantastic jacket! fits rather baggy, but not too baggy, which is really great. love it
