Burton Cobrashark Re:Flex Snowboard Binding - 2012

The lovechild of two of nature's most badass killing machines, the Burton Cobrashark Re:Flex Snowboard Binding is a park-destroying monster. The winged highback locks in your calf so you can tweak your nosepresses and seatbelt grabs to new levels, and the Park Blend baseplate provides an optimal flex for attacking any and every feature in sight.

  • Singer-Component Winged Highback locks in your calf for super-tweaked presses and grabs
  • MicroFLAD tool-free lean adjuster lets you crank up the forward lean when you need more powerful heelside turns.
  • Park Blend short-glass/nylon composite baseplate offers strength in a soft-flexing package
  • Recycled materials in the baseplate and highback reduce waste
  • FullBED cushioning maximizes comfort while minimizing fatigue
  • Asym Superstrap ankle straps and Primo Capstraps lock your feet down without creating painful pressure points
  • Smooth Glide buckles click in and out effortlessly
  • Re:Flex baseplate discs are compatible with every board from every manufacturer

Bottom Line: Devour every feature in the park.

these bindings are "pretty cool" and the reason i rated it a 4 is because the minute you hold it in your hands it has that cheep not well built feeling . but apart from that i love the support that you get from having that wing extending around your boot. i would never buy burton bindings again just because of that cheep / flimsey feeling about it but out of all of burtons bindings i think the malavita's and the cartel's are way sick!

I just found my bro's old skate banana and want to make it into a dedicated jib deck, but I need some relatively cheap jib oriented bindings (160 and under at dogfunk's current sale prices). So far I'm thinking these, union contacts, and flux rk30s. What should I get? I'm open to other suggestions too.

I really don't think you'd be disappointed with any of those 3 options. I personally have ridden the contacts a bunch and they are perfect for a jib set up - comfy and soft. I have friends that ride the RK30s and cobrasharks and they seem to feel the same way about them. The unions are probably the softest option with the flux close behind and then the cobrasharks. Hope this helps!

I can imagine the leverage it would give you for pressing and that would be great. Never rode a pair of bindings with wings but I was curious, wouldn't the wings make it harder to grab your noise and tail? Anyone have any experience with this? It would be great to know.

Team choice of shreds like Ethan Deiss.
Re:flex is an incredible upgrade to this binding over last year.
The wing is killer for getting leverage in to nosepresses, butters, etc.
