Description

Mellow flex, serious board feel, and enough cushioning to stay on the hill all day long.

The Burton Custom EST Binding delivers buttery-flexing adjustability to help you make the most of your Channel snowboard. The single-component polycarbonate baseplate and highback ensure a soft, even flex for ultimate comfort whether you're learning to link turns or getting after it in the park. ShredBed baseplate padding puts you closer to your topsheet for a lower center of gravity and better board feel.

My teen daughter is new to snowboarding and I just bought her the Burton Hero Smalls Snowboard 142cm. What bindings would you suggest as someone who is new to the sport and that may match well to the snowboard mentioned above? I am also new to the sport.. is there anything else I need (e.g. hardware) when buying the bindings? Thanks for the help!!

Responded on

Bindings would depend mostly on the size of her boots. I would get Burton bindings just to save yourself from buying a new baseplate. All of the hardware will be included someone who knows a little something about snowboarding should install them for you. If you can get back to me with a boot size I will be able to help more. These bindings are adult sized mens bindings small is size 6-8 mens. If her feet are smaller than that I would look into kids bindings, the burton mission smalls are pretty solid.

do these bindings only work for the channel board or can you get a baseplate so that they fit a normal board?

Responded on

EST bindings are only compatible with an ICS (channel) board. If you are riding a board with inserts, but want the similar board feel you get from EST, look into a Burton Re:Flex binding.

Nice Lookin, Nice Riding

I love this binding. It not only looks cool, but feels just the same. The new est feel really lets you connect with your board for the most board feel ever imaginable. I also love the primo strap and capstrap. The ankle strap gives you really good support but also a nice amount of forgiveness. The capstrap really keeps you'r boot all the way in your binding all day, and the grip makes it stay on you'r toe without slipping. The smooth glide buckles are amazing too. They're easy to get on and off. So overall this binding is definatly 5 stars. I can't find anything wrong with it considering the price.

Responded on

Yes this binding and that board are made for each other. Fresh as minty breath.

Responded on

Just make sure you have a dominant that has the Channel track binding mounting system... if it has the channel, your money!

Great upgrade

I went with these to upgrade from the budget bindings I had on my previous board. The improvement in stability, quicker release and lock-in,, was nothing short of awesome. Snowboarding is sort of a collateral recreation for me, so I tend to buy middle of the road gear for this sport. I found the Custom's for $120, and have been more than content since.

Mneh

I was kind of disappointed in these bindings. I teamed them with a Malolo for some great Utah powder days and they let me down. They are definitely not the quality of say a Cartel or Malavita binding and left me wanting. Granted the flex is very soft on these and didn't give me the response I needed for powder but even on groomers I didn't feel like they performed how they should have. If you just want them to strap your foot on to a board, that is fine. But, if you want performance, I would suggest going with either another brand at the same price point or moving up to a higher quality Burton binding.

Should these bindings come with plastic covers for over the adjustment pieces? A friend of mine with a different set of Burton EST bindings does, my Customs don't... Anyone?

Responded on

I'm not sure what adjustment pieces you are talking about. Do you mean the forward and angle window in the footbed? If you do then no, they not covered in the customs. Other bindings do have them covered up, but not the customs.

I like the color of these bindings and i think they will go great with my Women's Supermodel board. I wear a women's 8.5 size boot, and I wanted to know if I can still get these bindings even though theyre men's bindings. Should be okay right?

Thanks,

Responded on

Yes, you can get them, just make sure you get the smalls, the medium will be too big for your boots.

Pretty cool looking but bad quality

Burton makes pretty good shit coming from a guy with a Burton Hero board, Burton Moto boots, Burton Cargo pants, Burton Launch jacket, and Burton Gore-Tex Under Gloves. But DAMN they can't make a binding for Shit. First time on the hill the White on the toe-strap was peeling, second time the whole toe-strap takes a dive to the pavement as im walking to the car, then after about a week or so later the ratchets are coming loose. Overall NOT A GOOD BINDING however sets up very nicely with the Channel system. If you are looking for a quality binding for this price look at some Union Contacts
