Description
Don't mess with the king.
It's no accident that Burton keeps bringing back the Custom Flying V Snowboard year after year. With the playful Flying V profile and a medium flex, the Custom Flying V is truly an all-mountain destroyer. Plus it's offered in enough lengths for just about everyone, meaning there's no excuse not to pick one up.
- Flying V hybrid profile offers rocker float and playfulness, while a touch of camber under the feet adds edge control, added pop, and power through turns
- Triax fiberglass gives a versatile flex and response for all-mountain performance
- Lightning Bolts energy transfer strand radiate outward from under your feet to make the feel more responsive without making it stiffer
- Frostbite edges extend slightly beneath your bindings to provide increased edge-hold in icy conditions
- Super Fly II uses lighter and stronger woods to provide pop, strength, and reduced weight
- True twin shape lets you dial in your switch tricks
- Extra-absorbent sintered WFO base is infused with a specially formulated wax for a durable base that stays fast all season long
- Infinite Ride process consists of Burton overbuilding the board, and then breaking it in at the factory, for a ride that stays crisp and poppy straight out of the plastic season after season
- Pro-Tip uses a thinner tip and tail for reduced swing weight
- 10:45 sidewalls are extra beefy for bomber impact protection
- The Channel allows you to micro-adjust you stance over a greater length and an infinite range

I would recommend something like a lib tech trice verison or a burton flying v would be ideal as well.. 125lbs @ 5'7 I would say go with a 151-156 around there depending on how much powder he wants to conquer.

I wear a size 11.5 Thirtytwo lashed boots, 5'11 180lb. Should I go with the regular or wide version of this board? 24 in +12,/10 stance. I get fatigued with my turns after a while with my 157(W) board, however, i do not want any toe drag. I would like to go with a regular width board as long as the pros outweigh the cons.
Can anyone please advise.
Thanks

Great ride. Came from Camber-only for 20+ years. This board is fun. Very playful and forgiving. Lets you bang out fast turns with the Springloaded hybrid camber shape (little chance of edge-catch), yet the edges still bite and hold when you need them to.

I am contemplating buying this board. I am in that middle zone where I am too heavy, tall, and advanced for a kid's board, but adult boards are just too dang big for me to mix it up in the park. I am advanced enough to carve an adult board, but I want something I can use all over the place and still be in complete control. I am 115 lbs and 5'8-9" and I am thinking about the 148. If this isn't the board for me, could anybody recommend an all mountain semidirectional or functioanl twintip for me?

If you are still growing I'd get the 151, but if you are fully grown I'd get the 148. You are tall enough where the stance isn't going to be too big for you, and when you have all your gear on you're weight will be enough for the board. For your height the 148 would make a great all mountain board. You could also look at the Burton Nug boards, they are meant to ride smaller which could be just right for you.... plus they are great boards.

When I first rode with this board and my Burton Custom EST bindings it felt like butter between my cheeks! Incredibly natural riding feel probably due to the springbox technologies. Nice and poppy, the flex is enough to give you nice control while reducing leg fatigue greatly. Bring the V out of your bedroom and take it off and jump and you'll have the Custom Flying V, totesmegoats.
Buy this board, its super-duper like black spiderman.

So this was my first board purchase ever. My first snowboard was a gift when I was an adolescent and I used it for nearly 10 years (still have it). Still getting used the feel but all in all love the quality and design.
This was my first and only season using it so I can't speak for the longevity, so far so good!
A bit pricey for me but I think it's well worth it.

I am 5'0" (153cm) tall and around 144 lb (65Kg)
Boot size 7.5
Level intermediate , snowboarding few days per year
The smaller Burton Custom Flying V (adults) is 148, while the biggest of the Burton Custom Smalls is 145W. Which is not too much difference. I know that i am a little over the specified weight for the custom smalls, but i feel more comfortable with 145 at the same time. Will it compromise the board?
Does the Burton Custom Smalls will work for me ? (instead a Burton Custom flying V). Price difference is huge.

3cms does not sound like much but it is. If you ride mostly groomers and the park. you should be ok going with a smaller board. if you get into any powder or backcountry you may want to size up.
hope this helps.

Should I get a 151 or a 154?
I purchased a 151 in the Flying V but now wonder if I should have grabbed the 154. Im almost 5'8 and weigh 150lbs. I have ridden a 154 custom (camber) for the past 4 years and sized down due to the fact that it has the Flying V hybrid tech.
I ride East Coast mainly (Vt, and groomers) but travel out west a handful of times through the year. Just wondering if its going to be too short for the powder days. Thoughts?

You may have some problems with the deep pow but you can also move your bindings back and put more weight on your back foot. or you can rent a board.

Hello, Ethan.
The Burton Custom Flying V features the Channel system for a more true board flex and when teamed up with a Burton EST binding, unlimited stance options.
Any major binding will fit and work with the Burton Channel. An alternative to a traditional four hole mounting system.

One of the longest lasting boards in the Burton line. There is a reason the Custom FV continues to be the top choice for riders who ride all over the mountain. The versatility of the Flying V shape allows you to ride in all conditions - from powder to groomers, park laps to backcountry lines.
