Riding on the brink of control has never been more fun.
- Traditional camber design delivers the best edge control and pop of any camber profile
- Squeezebox construction uses strategic core profiling to increase pop and make the board easier to manipulate at any speed
- Dragonfly core uses over 500 individual laminations (done by hand, sheesh) for insane snap and minimal weight
- Vaporskin fiberglass/carbon laminate creates the ideal flex with minimal material weight
- Frostbite edges extend out from binding zones 0.5mm for improved edge grip in all snow conditions
- The Channel mounting system improves board flex and allows infinite stance options (compatible with Burton 3D or EST bindings)

Love this ride. The flex, camber, edge technologies, everything makes for a power sled. Feel and response is superb. I've been able to tweak out incredible hair splitting carves on hardpack, get fast and furious in the trees, float through waist deep powder in steep chutes (provided you set your bindings back as much as you need), blast massive airs off of smaller looking hips jumps and bumps. This board is really worth the money, if you got it, and you are looking for a board that you can shred pretty much anything. Exactly what this board was designed for.
If you are looking for a specific kind of ride, for instance all you do is backcountry, then this may not be your board. You can find a ride that is specifically designed for the conditions you mostly ride. Again, this board is about being really good at everything, instead of the best at one thing. I recommend this deck for those you can only afford one board for the season, and on those special days demo a board for specific needs as needed.
Custom x 2012 156 w cartel est
Excellent gear. Awesome board, easy to ride contrary to what some reviews say, used to own a regular custom before. carves very well, excells in groomers, and has a very fast base. Paired with cartel est bindings. Im 5'9". 158pounds.
I currently ride a custom. I feel that...
I currently ride a custom. I feel that when I get up to speen that im over flexong it. (I freeride mostly) Would this fix my problem? Any other suggestions?
The Custom X would fix the problem of the chattering at high speeds because it is stiffer than the Custom, i recommend for freeriding the Burton Barracuda or the Fish, the Custom X is mostly an All Mountain Board, it serves best at going very fast in groomers, much like the old Burton T6.
Best snowboard ever!!!
Amazing! I love this board and it rides like no other. Buy one now!!!
First off, let me just say that this board is SEXY. I love how the design is simple and refined. The board is very light compared to my older boards (ride serum, buron clash). Responsiveness of the board is 10/10. Ever have that moment when you're about to fall due to an unexpected event and you feel like you can't control your board? Well this board is the exact opposite. Control and responsiveness is it's best feature in my opinion. Cost is steep, but worth every penny. ICS is a breeze when used with EST bindings. I paired this up with Burton Custom EST bindings. If $650 won't make you broke, buy this board. I highly recommend it.
Does the custom x have full wrap metal...
Does the custom x have full wrap metal edges?
Yes it does
Got this board a few weeks back and rode it three times before the tail began peeling completely apart. Riding some rails and jumps, didnt work it hard at all. Not sure if it was a manufactuing problem or what but i got a full refund which was good. I dont recommend it.
My go to board for 5 years now.
I am now on my third Custom X, and I still regard this as the go to board for daily riding. The response is excellent, as it carves well but is not so touchy that it can catch. It also has a very good smooth ride, without compromising the overall feel of the board. If you consider the Vapor the Ferrari (Fast but touchy) of the Burton line than the Custom X is easily the BMW M3 (Almost as quick but oh so refined). Everyone should own one as their go to board.
Does this board do alright in powder and...
Does this board do alright in powder and trees.
Tried and true. The confidence of camber letting you charge every condition. A reverse camber board may float more in powder than a traditional camber board, but the Custom X will hold a great edge for the hard back days. Very responsive and will do great when making quick turns in the trees.
Trees yes. Deep pow...gotta stay focused. The camber on this board will pitch you over the front if you let it. I love mine on most days. On a powder day I ride something else.
Attack the mountain with the Custom X
I'm on my third Custom X and it's always been my primary ride since owning them. If you charge hard and need to turn, huck, land, or go balls to the wall straight down the trail with precision then you can't do better than the X. This board is not for noobs. You got know how to ride this board or it will ride you (totally stole that line from a friend). If you're looking to butter around the mountain like a ballerina, don't buy this board. There are plenty of noodles out there for that type of thing. Works on rails and kickers but it's not forgiving. Miss your landing and you'll be kissing snow. Responsiveness is it's best feature.
I plan on always having a Custom X in my quiver.
Please tell me,can my boots with size 10...
Please tell me,can my boots with size 10 can feet custom x board 160cm?
yes they should do nicely with your boot size, this board is great
Yes a size 10 will fit on a 160 Custom X.
If not you could always get the wide version... I have a size 14 and I own the 162 Wide Custom X.
