Burton built the 12L Day Hiker Backpack to easily handle a few hours of backcountry riding without the added bulk of the larger 20L pack. The 12L day hiker still packs all the features that you've come to expect from a Burton backcountry pack; a board carry system, a shovel pocket, a fleece-lined goggle/MP3 pocket, and hydration compatibility. Don't make the mistake of assuming that all of these features equal a heavy pack, though. At just 1.7 pounds, the 12L Day Hiker probably weighs less than your lunch.

Bottom Line: Leave the kitchen sink in the kitchen.

This backpack is way too small for an average adult. Its deigned features are well thought out, but the board strap doesn't really hold my board.
