Description

For short trips into the backcountry.

The Burton Day Hiker Pack holds just enough gear for in-bounds snowboarding with a few yo-yo laps thrown into the mix. A shovel pocket keeps your avalanche gear accessible when you hike outside controlled terrain, and Burton’s vertical-carry system holds your board while you posthole to the goods. Or course, it’s key to keep up your motivation, so this pack also includes a fleece-lined sound pocket to hold your MP3 player at the ready. **DISCONTINUED**

is the backpack waterproof or have any water resistant pockets?

Responded on

It does not. It is a basic Cordura/Nylon backpack construction.

Awesome

Def. a sweet backpack. Its not too big and not too small, great for a day on the hill, or for school or anything of the sort. The board straps are great, as well as the insulated pocket for your googles. And it looks sweet. :D

Adequate pack

I bought this pack for sidecountry/resort riding, and it's good enough for the job I give it. I don't require any real avalanche safety in my pack, but I keep spare gloves, goggles, a beanie, some food, a board lock, and an insulated hydration bladder in it. It's held up just fine. It's big and sturdy enough to hold your board for a hike, but small enough to sit on the lift comfortably.

CONS: Mine didn't come with a fleece-lined pocket... bummer. Also, the material isn't the strongest, so I keep it light when packing supplies.

OVERALL: Good enough for occasional side/backcountry, great for resort.

Schweet

Nice pack. Lots of room. Can fit a laptop and some books if your not on the mtn. Two complaints... 1.No pocket for your hydration bladder so it has to be in the main pocket, if you dont have a sleeve, your vinyl bladder WILL get poked and popped. 2.There is no fleece lined goggle/mp3 pocket. The pocket is there, but NO FLEECE, even though the ad says there is. (Liars!) Note: I got tiger stripe camo, the inside is orange.

Pretty Good

I love this backpack.. it just recently got it. Its cool how you can vertically carry your snowboard and your mp3 player so you can listen to it while riding down the hills. The only part that I hate about it, is that the inside is pinkish/purplish. I'm talking about the Gator Green One. Other than that it's awesome.
