Get them molded

This boots kick ass, especially after you take them to the shop to get molded to your feet. If they are a bit snug they can put this piece over your toes to kind of stretch them during the molding process. I agree with the other poster that these boots are really made for ladies with narrow feet, which works out great for me. They are snug in all the right places.

think again

Before purchasing Burton Emeralds my advice would be to think again and make sure you've crossed off all other options. I bought mine because of the fit (I have to give them credit -- they're very comfortable), but would not repeat the experience. 30-some riding days later, they're absolutely destroyed (sole is punched out, laces broke, no support left; they're as soft as sneakers). Bottom line is, think again of how long you hope to keep your boots.

The emerald

Good--and because it is an all mountain ride, it has a nice stiff fit.
I did find the lacing system a bit cumbersome; in fact I don't even use the outer laces, since the inner bladder laced up tight enough.

Fits Small

The lacing system was OK, but I did not see that it was all that great. And the fit runs at least a size small unless you enjoy having your toes curled up in your boots.

different from last years

They made these boots a lot more stiff than the Emeralds from last year. I have always worn Burton boots, and every year they have fit true to size. But in these boots I had to order a full size up to get them to fit. I only have to tighten the laces inside and I leave the outside speed laces totally loose. They are cool boots though. They just take a little getting used to. I recommend these boots to anyone who rides 2+ times a week, otherwise they'll feel to stiff.

Alright...

I thought the Emeralds were alright, but they did seem to run super narrow so I had some pain from that. Once I heat molded them they were a lot better. Love the speed zone lacing system.

Silver Boots?

Okay okay, so I bought these boots originally because of the super steezy silver look, but once I tried them on they are easily the most comfortable boots I have ever worn. Although I’m a little hesitant about the speed lacing system, it seems to be a fast way to give your boots a tight, custom fit. In short: silver boots * comfy fit * supportive upper = snowboarder to the third power!!
