Burton Family Tree Spliff Splitboard

After the resort gets tracked out, slap the skins on your Burton Family Tree Spliff Splitboard and head out to the backcountry. Burton's first Nug splitboard, the Spliff is designed to be ridden 8 to 10cm shorter than your normal board, which means reduced weight when you're skinning plus increased maneuverability when you're riding, all without sacrificing float and performance in pow.

  • S-Rocker extends a rocker shape from the nose to under your front foot, and then transitions to a cambered profile towards the tail to give you excellent float in deep snow while maintaining stability in changing conditions
  • Triax fiberglass gives a versatile flex and response for all-mountain performance
  • Nug Raduction uses every aspect of board design, from waist width and sidecut to flex profile and running length, to allow you to downsize your board length up 8 to 10cm from normal
  • Side Effects edges lengthen the surface area at the tip and tail for improved edge-hold on groomers and added float in pow
  • Super Fly II uses lighter and stronger woods to provide pop, strength, and reduced weight
  • Directional shape utilizes a slightly longer nose to improve control and float in all conditions
  • 5mm taper uses a narrower tail for effortless turn entry and exit, as well as superior float in powder
  • Sintered base is lightning-quick, durable, and holds wax longer
  • Infinite Ride consists of Burton overbuilding the board, and then breaking it in at the factory, for a ride that stays crisp and poppy season after season
  • Pro-Tip uses a thinner tip and tail for reduced swing weight
  • 10:45 sidewalls are extra beefy for bomber impact protection

Bottom Line: Blaze your spliff through uncharted terrain.

This is a really awesome board!! Splitboards are tough to find info about because there are not many people on the slopes with them and not many shops carry a good selection. I got this board a couple weeks ago and just finished 7 days in the French Alps with it. Before this I had been riding the current K2 panoramic split and really didn't like it. It was my first split and hated the feel of it. It made me not want to ride it unless I had to tour. This Burton on the other hand kicks ass on many levels. First of all you don't feel like your riding a splitboard. It is short, very light and compact. It is great in deep powder. It actually rips on groomers whether soft of icy as hell. I was so impressed with that out of a split. Not that you want to be on groomers all day with a split but what's nice is you can and still ride it very hard and hold a solid edge. The only thing I might change if I could is to have it just a tiny bit stiffer. Burton rates it a 5 out of 10 on the stiffness scale. Wish it was maybe 6.
To sum it up this is a board you can ride all day on many surfaces and love it and also have the option to split and go touring.

Splitboard meets Shortboard

With a wider waist width, flex, and longer running length the Spliff and its Nug Reduction allows you to downsize 8-10cm. Big board float and mobility packed into a 148 this split allows you to break away from the growing crowd at the trail head. Just like the Nug, but split in search of those untracked runs.
