Description

Welcome to the sisterhood.

So you want to learn how to ride. Here’s a very important tip: never let your boyfriend or brother take you out for a first ‘lesson’ and never, ever, do it on his hand-me-down equipment. Trust us; you want to be on the Burton Women’s Feather Snowboard. This board is designed to help you progress quickly from the bunny slopes at the mountain’s base to the tough stuff at the top and enable you to enjoy every step of the way. The Feather also comes with the Burton Go Snowboarding Package, which includes a first-time Learn To Ride lesson and a lift ticket, available at select resorts. Because, though your boyfriend may be a totally rad snowboarder, we’ll bet he can’t teach for shizzle.
  • New EZ V Rocker profile which lifts the edges slightly for a forgiving, catch-free ride
  • Cruise Control’s mellow flex and relaxed edge make progression fast and easy
  • Directional shape concentrates pop in the tail and offers plenty of overall float and control
  • Twin flex makes riding switch (where the fun really begins) a piece of cake
  • Tip-to-tail Superfly wood core provides a forgiving flex for edge control and solid turns
  • Durable extruded base is easy to fix when you manage to find that one rock on the run

Hey,

I'm 5'2 and 110lbs. I hear either 140 or 144 would be fine. What should I go for as a beginner/intermediate? Mostly groomed and maybe some powder days.

Hi there,
I'd like to get a board and have no idea what to look for. I'm usually between 100-110lbs (yes, it does vary that much) at 5'2" and I am definitely not growing anymore. Is there really a difference between the male and female boards. The women's designs are usually a bit too girlie for my taste, but the most important part is the size right now. I 've been boarding maybe 10x and would consider myself a beginner I think. I have no idea about brands or differences.
Thank You!

The feather is a great entry level board, easy to ride and great to progress on. The 144 is probably your best size. This is your board.

Im 5'3 and about 140lbs i was wondering what size board works for me?

Responded on

The 153 is your size unless you just stick to groomed runs then you could get the 149. If you are just starting out then the 149 would probably be a better fit.

I'm looking for a board for my girl. She's 5'1" and 110 lbs. Which size (144 or 149) would you recommend for her? She like boarding on powder, and I'd say she's between beginner and intermediate. Thanks in advance.

Responded on

You could go with the 144 or the 149. The 144 is probably be the better choice. It will be a better ride on groomers and all mountain riding, but if she only rides powder then run the 149.

I'm about 5'6" and weigh about 110lbs... I'm very much a beginner (cant link my turns yet and have only boarded about 4 times) - I'm heading to Mammoth for 2 months to give it a real crack, but am unsure if I should get the 144 or 149. People have told me 149, even 152, but I read the suggested sizing it said 141 or 144 for my weight.
I'll be riding both groomers & powder if it keeps snowing!

Very confused...please help verify which size would be best suited!

Thanks :)

Responded on

the 144 would be a good choice. You are just learning so the shorter board will be better. The size chart is correct.

Responded on

Thanks for your reply, do you think the 144 is still a good choice if I want to ride powder while learning? My boyfriend said he thinks the 149.

Please let me know!
Thanks :)

I heard that this board chips easy on the top?! but I like the board but have seen nothing but bad reviews. is that true?

Responded on

Any snowboard is going to chip if you hit it hard enough. From normal riding, the board will hold up for ever. It is a great entry level board, really soft and fun. You will be very please with this board.

I am 5'8 weigh 152 and a size 10.5 boot. I am between a beginner & intermediate. I will mainly ride the groomed slopes. What size board is best for me? I've been told anywhere between 150 & 156

Responded on

153 is your jam for sure. The 150 is a bit too short.

Best Answer Responded on

I think the 144 is your size. The weight range for the 140 will work as well. If you think you are going to grow at all then get the 144, or if you thing you will be riding powder in the future. I feel the 144 is a better size option.

Hey, got another question!
What bindings would you recommend for this board, given that I ride freeride mostly?

The Burton Lexa is a great bindings. Every Girl I talk to loves them and has nothing but great things to say about.

Hey,
Just wondering which length board to go for. I'm 60kg and 164.5cm. I'm between a beginner and intermediate, ride freeride and do a bit of power. I was thinking the 149 or 153? Which would be better?

Responded on

Either will be fine. I would say the 149 though.

My girlfriend wants a board and this is her favorite. She is 5' tall and about 130 lbs. She is very athletic. I was thinking of a 144 for her. What do you think?

Responded on

It depends on what type of riding she whats to do. The 144 is all good for groomers, but if she would like to run powder then grab the 149. It will be all good.

Hey just wondering about the Learn to Ride and lift ticket.. I can't find a list of where you can use this? I also realized this must be an American site, so I guess my actual question is if this offer is valid in Canada? Thanks

Responded on

Responded on

I would go with the 140 or the 144, with will work for you size. It depends on what type of terrain you plan on riding as well. If you are going to be learning and sticking to groomers then get the 140. If you think you'll be chasing powder then get the 144, actually this board has v-rocker so you will be good on the 140 either way.

Burton Feather

The Burton Feather is one of the best boards a Women could use to learn how to ride, as well as progress on. The new core profile called EZ V is a super smooth reverse camber shape to make it easy to shred to mountain. The also added "cruise control" feature lifts up the edges at the contact points to be even more catch free.

The board has a flex of 2. The Feather is soft and maneuverable, this allows you to ride the board instead of the board ridding you. You will not be disappointed with the ride and feel of the this board
