Description

Old-world craftsmanship to last way into the future.

The Burton Filson collection was designed in collaboration with Filson, a clothing manufacturer whose name has been synonymous with quality construction since 1897. The Filson X Squire Jacket is made with the finest materials available and old-world craftsmanship to last a lifetime.

The X Squire starts with warm, wind-resistant Filson Virgin Mackinaw wool and wind- and water-resistant oil-finish cotton shelter cloth. Then 40g Thinsulate synthetic insulation adds warmth and gets lined with satin and fleece. The fixed hood is lined with thick Sherpa fleece. The powder skirt can be removed on hardpack days and includes an interface that allows you to attach the jacket to compatible Burton pants. Zippered, mesh-lined underarm vents allow you to dump heat quickly so you don't burn up while you ride. For the final touch, Burton included a plethora of item-specific pockets to keep your essentials close at hand and keep you organized.

Anyone know how this jacket handles rain or long exposure to wet snow? Seemed like it might absorb a lot of water

Responded on

This jacket is water-resistant, not water proof, which means that yes after long exposure to rain/wet snow it will absorb in to the jacket instead of repelling the water.

Looser fit

The squire is a more on the looser fitting with drop tail styling.
