Burton Mansfield Softshell Jacket - Women's - 08/09 - 2008

Throw on the Burton Women’s Mansfield Softshell Jacket when spring snow is beckoning or a late-season storm is threatening. This Burton jacket keeps you warm and dry with its fleece lining and Dryride shell fabric. When you work up a sweat, just open the underarm zips and let in some cool air. The Burton Mansfield Softshell Jacket is completely breathable so you won’t feel like you’re skiing in a sauna.

Bottom Line: Jane Austen’s jacket of choice when she’s riding in the park.

Jacket fits true to size. I am 5'3" 110lbs and the small leaves enough room for a fleece underneath. The sleeves are a little long but thats much better than being a little short. The jacket also has a feminine shape to it which makes it nice for wearing off the mtn too.

baggy with long sleeves

It's a nice coat, warm, thin and stylish looking. I bought a Medium, unfortunately, this jacket is pretty large for a Burton. I'm 5'4 and I weigh about 130lbs, and this is baggy throughout, a little bit long in the waist and noticeably too long in the sleeves. I think I'll have to return it because of the sleeves. I typically wear a 4-6, in my experience a small would've fit better.

Discontinued means they are no longer making it and are selling what's left in inventory. If they didn't have it, then they wouldn't put it up there or it would say out of stock.

This jacket works great on the mountain- it thin and light but keeps you warm and dry. It is a narrow fit- I'm 5'9, 130 and it fits me to a tee. If you like to wear several layers or thick under layers order up a size. Would def reco this jacket to anybody!

Review Title

I got this jacket in black. I like it a lot because it's the first softshell I have bought that ACTUALLY fits a 5'10" 125 lb female. Being long torso-ed, long legged, long armed and not broad shouldered, it's hard for me to find jackets, jeans, pants, shirts etc. that fit and don't look frumpy. The only reason why I gave it 4/5 stars is because it is a bit baggy in the torso area, but I just layer that much more. Can't wait to test drive it on the slopes..
