These boots are really nice, when they're still in one piece. This is the second pair that has fallen apart. The laces break easily and the side is blown out after only one season. They ride really playful and a soft flex, but won't buy again.
Great Boot for Wide Feet

Last season, I had the Burton Rulers. Although the Ruler is a more expensive boot, it simply wasn't wide enough for my foot (normally a 2E to 4E width). This boot doesn't feel as padded/warm, but it is the widest boot I have ever worn. It has partial heat molding, and it still has the speed lacing system. If you have a wide foot, this IS the boot for you, beyond a doubt!
Bad service badly made
These boots suck if you ask me after about 45 days on the hill they looked like they got got mauled by a bear and burton wanted nothing to do with replacing or even a warranty check
My son loves his boots
I bought these for my son to use in Boulder CO and area. He LOVES them. They're comfortable, sturdy, stylin' and perfect. I bought two pairs to have him find the right size, and returned the other size. Simple, easy. Great service, great boots.

I love my Burton Motos. Super light weight, really fast lace-up, and very comfortable and warm. As stated the footprint is very small which gives you a wider range of bindings/boards that your feet can fit into. I'd buy them all over again.
Good Try but not there yet
I bought this boot based on the fact that it was 1. the best selling snow boarding boot in the world, and 2. I have read multiple great reviews. I'm here to tell you my experience was less than great. The boot fits well and provides plenty of support but when it comes to durability.......this boot fails hard. I purchased my boots around the first week of March and by second week of April they suffered a critical failure and ruined my last day on the slopes in Mammoth. Totally sucked! The lace system supports that are sewn into the lower zone of the boot literally busted through the stitching while tightening, leaving the lower zone of my boot incapable of being tightened. I ATTACHED A PICTURE OF THE DAMAGE. Besides this failure, the tightening system needs frequent tightening throughout the day - more than I enjoyed fussing with. My recommendation is to bypass this system and this boot for a BOA coil system or just a standard lace up boot.
All that said, BackCountry has been amazing! I processed the return immediately upon getting home. I printed my label, sent the boots off, and BackCountry gave me an insane deal to Next Day Air a replacement! BackCountry gets 5+ STARS from me!
These boots are pretty cool. the fit well once broken in and they're hella easy to lace up. a few problems i had were that i had a hard time putting the lace in its sleeve on the side. but the traction for off the slopes and icy patches is great. and they're like shoes for in the resorts
Boot Pretty Good. Burton CS poor
This review is partially about the product and partially about the customer service center at Burton. Let me begin with the product. I like the boots: the fit is bulky, but that was the expectation, and as such I am pleased with the plump and perhaps menacing look my feet take on when I slip into these. The coloration (I ordered the black) is nicely handled with just enough white contrasts to give them character. I like, but do not love, the lacing system. I bought theses boots from Backcountry on Feb. 3rd of 2012. I live in California and have a Monday through Friday job, so I do not get out as much as I should. I say that because while tightening the laces on Monday, March 12 of 2012 (I managed to call in sick), the lace on one of the boots snapped. Mind you, this was only the second or third time I had worn these boots. I searched online and discovered I was not the only one with the problem and did what the discussion forum suggested: I called Burton. Jackie was nice enough at first. She seemed, however, incredulous that the laces could have snapped so soon, claiming that she had never heard of that happening. She did offer to send replacements at no cost. She then went into a somewhat patronizing lesson on why I should never rest my board on my boot, as if she was looking to place the blame for the product issue almost squarely on my shoulders. I get that she was giving what I would consider sound advice; however, the part of the lace that snapped is the part just below where the laces connect in a Y shape to allow the user to pull the laces tight, and I had already explained as much; also, she had not even asked me whether I rested the board on the boot. The part of the lace that snapped is tucked into the inside of the boot after tightening and therefore would not have been exposed to the edge of the board if resting the board on it during a chair ride. I was not near the boots when on the phone and had forgotten which boot had the snapped lace, but it ended up being the right boot. Being that I am goofy-footed, I would not have been resting my board on the boot, which makes her lecture even less impressive. When I replied that I am not sure that this could be the case (namely, that my resting the board on my boots caused the issue) after my third use, I realized and relayed, perhaps stupidly, that it may in fact have only been my second use. She responded in a patronizing tone: Oh, so now its only your second use, huh? This is where I became a bit annoyed. Look, I get that the customer is not always right, but seriously, blaming the customer for a ripped boot lace by claiming that he or she took part in behavior that you have not even verified he or she has, and then implying that the customer is a liar and is therefore attempting to get over on you is pathetic. Whether it was the second or third time should not matter. On a pure logistical level the behavior she was attempting to tutor me away from (Spoiler alert: I did intermittently rest the board on my loose boot, but that boots laces are fine) could not have caused the product failure. And while I fully admit and understand that my not remembering exactly how many times I have worn the boots is suspect (I am in my thirties and had to cancel and re-plan a few trips, and have way too many gray hairs for my age) it still should be handled more appropriately. These boots are barely more than a month old, have scarcely been used, and I dont deserve to be painted as a liar. She did relent a bit in her tone and Burton is sending me replacements and a replacement tool. She was still curt for the remainder of the call, and I am unsure as to whether I can soundly recommend Burton products to others. My girlfriend is in the market for boots, and I am questioning whether I can recommend her a Burton boot.
Awesome Boots Yo...
Pros- Can put them on and take them off super fast. Very comfortable and very warm. They feel like normal shoes at times. "Sick" out soul grip on ice and stomp pad. Kick ass styles and designs. No laces!!!
Cons- They are a little chubby on your bindings. You must buy a half inch or above your normal shoe size.

This boot took about 3 hours to break in and have been comfortable since then! The speed lacing is easy and convenient!
These are my third pair of Burton Boots each have been different and even though I really enjoyed my Burton Rulers I feel like these Moto's are even more comfortable and so far I have no complaints whats so ever. I'm really digging them.

Couldnt be made any better. So comfy and stylish too. easy to work speed lacing with gloves on. So warm they're like a fireplace for your toes!

what size binding should i get if i am a size 14 boot and should i get the same brand bindings as the boot?
get what ever binding you want man. and for size XL but check the brands sizing they might only have a large size but it will work for you 14's. I have 15's and use union large/xlarge size.
Boots and Bindings from the same brand are made to go together... fit better ect. Look into a Large or XL depending on the brand.
Feet stay warm and dry. Fit is comfortable.
I like the speed zone lacing (pull on 2 strings on either side of the boot to tighten and lock the laces - one side controls above the foot while the other side controls the shin laces).
I would say the only drawback to this lacing system is the extra string that you have to tuck into the boot once you've tightened it. There is a nice little slot for lace handles to fit into but the excess string you end up with feels messy to deal with. This is a minor complaint and overall does not detract away from the performance or value of the boot.

Contact Burton and they should be able to help you out. Haven't ripped mine but the reps at my local shop have said they see it rarely and Burton has always taken care of them as a warranty issue. Guess it depends on how long you've had them.
contact burton they sent me free ones no questions asked. Not easy to replace, make sure you take a photo of how they were laced before. the tool they send works but I had to stand on boot to pull it through the holes sometimes. Thought I would break it.
