How does the zipper on the top hem of the Poacher Pants work into the jacket/pant interface? There is no connecting zipper on my Poacher Jacket that I can see. Ideally it would run along the skirt jacket connection point, no?

I am kind of surprised at the rave reviews. I got these in a pinch after accidentally giving away to the Salvation Army some awesome Solomon corduroy pants I got on sale last year.

I picked these up Jan. 17 last-minute before a trip to Mount Snow, in Mascot blue. Yes, I was impressed by the word 'poacher' admittedly, (like to poach woods myself...) and even though the guy at the Burton NYC store said they weren't the most waterproof pant available, I'm on a budget. Welcome to the life of young adults who buy their own gear. He did say, specifically, 'As long as you're not sitting on your butt for 8 hours in the snow, you'll be fine.' Ok.

Try 3 hours of riding, with regular strap-in sit downs.

Try 15 minutes of sitting in wet snow.

On Saturday just this weekend I was riding in really wet, heavy snow of VT, maybe 30 miles from the Burton factory, and even just the few hours with that condition, and my pants were wet, already, and seeping through on the inside.

The fit is, admittedly, gorgeous. Colors are great. Lots of techie features. But couldn't agree more with C.F. MagicPants's review - these have only been used 5 times and they could've been used 15 days the way they've taken a beating.

Not durable, and really, and not worth the Burton label, in my mind. I'm desperately hoping I can do a return or exchange, because it's not up to standard expectations for ANY snow pant, much less anyone who rides every weekend. Save your money, buy some nicer pants from last season.

Bought these for my son for christmas, he loves them. My older son was jealous, he loves the style of these pants. Wearing well so far. Waist size was a bit on the small side. Backcountry price and shipping was great as well.

Awesome pants, mines fit me great. loose enough for some riding and funcationality, cool enough so you dont look like another poor sap on the slope wearing black pants.

Super light pants that keep you warm and dry. I've had pants before that were way heavier than this and this was definitely worth the upgrade. Great blend of form and function, but if you're just looking for some colorful pants then you can probably get a pair thats cheaper.

I bought these for my son for Christmas. He thinks they are great, wore them a LOT this Christmas and took them back to school with him - I think to navigate the windy Chicago winter.

Dogfunk is great... I am not a snowboarder so a website that has this much info./options and help with things I know my son needs but I don't know much about, is EXACTLY what I need.

I hadn't tried any snowsports until this season. That being said, these are the pants I've used for both skiing and boarding. I have no complaints whatsoever, and they're holding up quite well. A couple of small slices in them (that were easily fixed with a Gorepatch) is the only damage they've sustained, which is very minimal when you take into account the amount of time I've spent sailing down the slopes on my backside :P

I would buy another pair of these without hesitation.

It is pretty close, I don't know if it is exactly the same color but it looks the same. I would say run it, that will look so sick, just enough to match but not crazy out there.

I'm a 32' waist thinking about getting a medium, does anyone know how the sizing is with these? Would a medium fit me pretty well?

the medium will be your perfect size. My waist is a 32' as well and I wear a medium

A Burton Poacher is an amazing deal, starting at $120 this 5000MM water proof pant will take you everywhere and allow you to do anything. With tons of different colorways and insulation options, your style and temperature desires are taken care of. Getting into pant of this quality and durability at this price is unheard of, get some while you still can.

Why aren't they more durable, water-tight, and just generally better able to handle actual east-coast conditions? Mine have flunked, badly, so far.

Got these pants when I moved out to Utah my first season and they worked out great until about Feb and then the cuffs were shredded and the waterproofing was gone. If you only ride on the weekends or take a few trips a year, these are great pants. If you put in more than 50 days a season, spend the extra cash in the first place and you won't end up buying two pairs in one season.

Does the brimstone color on these pants match the Burton Poacher jacket in true black native? BUR3131 this is the item number for the jacket.

It sure will. That would look sick for sure.

It actually doesn't match the jacket at all. The brimstone color is much more orange than red.
