great boot

i have used this boot every day for a little over a year and i love it. its super light as well as very easy to break in. it fits like a beginner boot but rides like a champ. soft enough to slay park laps and stiff enough to hold the edge on the long traverse.

Responded on

it was definitely easy to break in, im on day 40+ and day 1 didnt feel too far different!

Best Boot Out There

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Let me just say, I did my research..... I also spent hours and hours at the Backcountry retail store trying on what seemed like millions of boots, well it came down to this boot and the Burtons Ox Boot, I decided on this boot and am so glad I did, Just an awesome all around boot, I ride mostly in the backcountry with steep lines and cliffs and this boot gives exactly what I am looking for, This boot is so amazingly lightweight(lighter than some of my tennis shoes) without sacrificing support, It also has an awesome low profile and non chunky look, almost an inch shorter than most boots, even compared to the burton ox. I just took this boot out for the first time Last weekend for a couple of days to Grand Targhee and loved it, so comfortable and everything else you would want in a boot, glad i choose these, Burton never lets me down

So-So

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The boots have a very small profile and next to my Burton Invaders of the same size, they are nearly 3/4" shorter in length and also have a much reduced overall profile compared to my Invaders. Basically the Invaders look like moon boots next to these.

My only complaints are that I seem to get a lot of heel lift in these boots and also get a pressure point on the top of my foot if I lace them too tight trying to avoid the heel lift, yet the boots fit perfectly. From a comfort standpoint I believe that my Invaders are much more comfortable and also seem to hold my heel better, but I wear these because of the smaller overall profile and also I'm a size 11 and want to avoid any heel/toe drag.

rampant is AWESOME

i wear a boot size 11 and just bought a pair of union force bindings M/L. my old burton motos didnt have shrinkage and had a enough toe and heel drag to bother someone so i bought these. they fit the bindings perfectly. the boots are super light and have plenty of support where you need it and less where you dont want it.

I could barely fit a size 10 into M/L Forces even with the strap maxed out so I don't know how you fit an 11.

Park Boot, bad traction on ice

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Fantastic lightweight boot. One of those boots where I can have on all day without a complaint. Perfect stiffness and crossbones feature is great. Only issue, please don't try hiking up the side of a cornice thats been iced over. These boots have almost no traction and falling off the top a cliff is not fun.

So If I needed the 10.5 would the outer shell be the same size as a 9.5? So it would literally look and feel like 9.5?

Responded on

With Burton's Shrinkage Technology we build the boot with less material at the outsole reducing the boot's overall footprint one size. It will fit like a 10.5, but footprint of a typical 9.5,
allowing you to ride a board with a narrower waist with.

Do not sacrafice support, strength

Burton's lightest weight boot, The Rampant is softer than the Hail with a flex like the Ambush, featuring Total comfort and the Crossbone Cuff focuses support for more air per ollie and easier presses. At this price, no other boot can compete with the Rampant. Boot of choice for Zak Hale.

Responded on

Zak Hale should wear the Hail.
