Description

Still working on the snack line thing.

The Burton Men's Ruler Snowboard Boot doesn't concentrate on crushing the park or destroying the backcountry. It doesn't feel the need to focus on domination in the trees, on groomers, or standing in line for a snack. The Ruler wants it all. With a slightly-stiffer-than-average flex and Speed Zone lacing system, the Ruler is prepared to reign over every aspect of the mountain.

  • Shrinkage footprint reduction technology for a smaller profile and better board feel
  • Imprint 2 thermo-moldable liner for a custom fit
  • Rad Pad lace bite protection lets you lase the boot tightly without pain
  • EST optimized EVA midsole with gel heel insert for shock absorption
  • Snowproof internal gusset keeps your foot dry and happy, even on deep days
  • EVA footbed for added comfort
  • Power Spine Backstay for support and flex where you need them
  • Sweet Spot Speed Zone lacing allows you to customize your fit for a stiff, tight fit where you want it and flex where you don't

Not for heavy use.

I live and work at the mountain and ride almost every day. I bought last years model at the beginning of the season and they fit great and were very comfortable for a couple months. They break in very fast. Mine are completely trashed after 1 and a half seasons. they are overly flexible and my heal now slips almost an inch and a half. They still hold up in mild groomed resort conditions but as soon as I hit the technical I lose all support. I work in a rental shop so I know how a boot is supposed to fit and I know I have the right size.

Bottom line: These boots aren't for everyday charging. They wont hold up.

I have logged over 50 days a season and my boots aren't even close to being trashed?????

Comfy, but lacking support

They break in very fast. They're still comfortable, but just don't offer much support. I think these would be a really great park boot, but if you're making lots of turns on anything other than corduroy, you're legs will be dying.

They could charge more for this boot

I love this boot, i feels like my feet were meant to be in them. Super comfortable, not too heavy, can make them as tight or as loose as you want, and the "speed zone" makes it super fast to lace up and get going. I have them in white couldn't be happier.

Hey there, they have a standard width; same as every other mfg... if you want a wide snowboard boot, Salomon makes some...

Is the 'shrinkage foot print reduction' a new design? I have 2009 burton freestyle boots that have so much wasted space. Hoping these will help that as my old boots are hard to fit into the bindings.
thanks.

Shrinkage is new since your 2009 models. Smaller footprints!

my son wears a size 11 shoe, I can't remember what size he wears in Burton snowboard boots, a 10.5 or 11. Do they tend to run the same as shoes or bigger?

Yes......they will fit...however....They will be very small in these bindings. If he is a size 9 why did you buy him large bindings and not mediums?

Elegance you are in luck! You and I both use Burton Bindings, and wear the same size in a boot. I found that large bindings for a size 9 tend to fit a bit loose, but they can be adjusted down to fit my boot. However the medium bindings I have on my Custom X fit my boots perfectly.

Great!

I just purchased these boots and they are really great. I ride mainly park but these can do it all. The 6 response rating is accurate but it feels a little stiffer. I recommend that you take these boots into your local board shop and have them set them on the heater and then put them on to have them form to your foot and break them in. The lacing system is also really neat. I'd recommend these boots to intermediate riders. A good boot for the right price!

I wonder were it can't go...

This boot does it all. Charging steeps, stomping bootpacks, killing kickers. Soft feel with a moderate flex adds up to a great boot.
