Description

One boot to shred it all.

Everyone from resort-town lifties to weekend warriors can appreciate the Burton Ruler Snowboard Boot for its conveniently comfy fit, go-anywhere flex, and value-heavy features. New for 2013 is a redesigned outsole for serious weight savings, and a built-in air cushioning system designed to take the edge off harsh landings and choppy afternoon groomers.

  • Speed Zone lace system tightens the boot's upper and lower zones independently with the pull of two locking, stashable cords
  • 270° Airbag Cushioning absorbs shock to improve comfort and reduce fatigue
  • Shrinkage technology reduces the boot's overall footprint by one full size (for example, a 12 fits like a 12 but only takes up as much space as an 11)
  • Imprint 2 Liner features new Lock Up cuff to keep your liner securely in place while lacing up
  • Rubber toe/heel reinforcements protect high-wear zones

Defective boot

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Bought the boots in the summer and didn't wear them until Feb of next season. Wore them for 10-15 run and toe started to come apart. Backcountry wouldn't accept return given elapsed time since purchase. Lets hope Burton is more helpful.

Great boots

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

First pair of boots I've owned, so can't compare to others unfortunately. Felt pretty good on, not too heavy or anything. Feet were a bit tight on the first day, but that's standard new boot stuff.
Lacing system is easy to use for a newbie like me, super easy to adjust. Had no issues with them coming loose at all.
Feet stayed warm and dry (novelty after only ever having hire boots), looking forward to heap more days in these!
Only one small bug bear is when trying to dry - the inners don't come all the way out which is a tad annoying. No biggie though.

Super light all mountain rippers

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I used these boots to replace my older Burton Invaders and was immediately blown away by the weight difference, these felt like they weighed about half as much as my old boots! The quicklace system is really nice and makes for a custom feeling fit once you find your preferred tightness, I go for a more snug fit for a more held in ride on the trees and full tuck down trails. Another really cool thing about these boots is that they come out of the box feeling like they are a bit broken in, I had about half a day where I felt my feet were a little constricted, but after a few runs at Snowbird they felt just right on my sasquatch status size 14 wide feet. I ride alot of different terrain but typically stick to longer trails and tree runs, and these boots feel great for aggressive runs, once you find your preferred tightness there is no disconnect like with some other boots, they feel more connected to your binding then with a thicker heavier boot. I would recommend these for intermediate riders looking to shred the whole mountain without having to deal with laces, just set your stiffness and tear it up!

Great Boots, Wicked Tight

Got these boots 1/2 a size over my normal, and still found them too small. Hat to send them back to get a full size over, and they were still snug.

I guess this is part of Burton's "Footprint Reduction Technology" which somehow manages to squeeze bigger feet in to a smaller are.

Nice idea, but I'm not sure its great in practice.

not really what I expected

I got this pair as a replacement for my old Moto's that packed after intensive use. Looking for something stiffer to hold up better a banged ankle I thought it might be a good idea to invest in a more expensive boot. They slowly grow on me but i have to say, not that much impressed comparing them to my previous boots.
One thing that I hate about them is the lacing of the liner (laces attached to boot instead of liner); it makes it so much more difficult to take the liners out compared to Motos or other similar boots.

Love em

I've only taken these up a few times...so hopefully they remain a good fit.

I'm a size 10 shoe and ordered the size 9 after reading other reviews. Pretty much perfect.

The lacing system is also 1000x better than my previous setup.

I've been up in sub-zero temperatures as well...no problem staying warm.

Great price too. Highly recommend.

better than i could ever imagine

so i bit the bullet and bought these after my vans cirro boots (last years model, bought them this year) hurt my feet worst than any other boot i've owned, needless to say, all of that pain is gone with these. the stiffness on these is still pretty good, which is what i wanted, but its not so stiff that my feet are killing me after one run. i LOVE the toe cap on these because it's as hard as a rock so i can tighten my toe strap until it wont tighten anymore. the lacing system is really good too, i can see these lasting me a long time and i probably wont ever buy another model of boot after trying these.

These boots are super comfy and easy to put on. The one downside is that the lace can become undone and the boot loosens right away. Just make sure you cinch them tight and secure before you shred. But they are a great boot and give you a lot of control
