Burton Freebird Split Snowboard - Men's - 2012
The turns beyond the realm of the chairlift are the best the mountain has to offer. The Burton Freebird Split Snowboard can not only get you there with its split design but also uses fun-enhancing tech such as the S-Rocker profile and 7mm directional tapering so you can enjoy the reward without the leg burn.
- Split design separates into two boards that attach to after-market skins to provide effortless traction for the approach
- S-Rocker initiates at the nose of the board with a float-enhancing rocker that continues under the front inserts before transitioning into standard camber through the tail
- Triax fiberglass laminate provides full-length freeride-specific snap for increased ollie height and snap in and out of turns
- 10:45 sidewalls are beefed-up from the standard sidewall and are built with dual-angles (10 degree and 45 degree) that are designed and proven to absorb impact
- Super Fly II core maps certain areas of the board giving you strength, pop, and reduced weight just where you need it
- 7mm tapered shape and directional flex pattern elongates the nose to keep you floating on the pow with a luxurious town-car feel and the control of a souped-up street racer
- Side Effects lengthen the surface area at the contact points for hook-free planing in powder and increased edge hold on groomers and chop
- Pro-Tips thin out the nose and tail towards the edge to shave weight and swing weight so you can hopefully sneak in another 180 to your spin
- Infinite Ride technology initially overbuilds the core and breaks it in before it leaves the factory so you get a board that feels broken-in out of the box with improved durability as a bonus
- Sintered base is made from a durable, porous compound that retains wax, holds speed on flats, and resists damage from under-snow hazards
- Die-cut base graphics/topsheet combos vary; we cannot guarantee you will get a certain color combination
- The Freebird hails from Burton's Family Tree, a line-up of of boards built with the sole purpose of soul-carving and face-shots
Bottom Line: Fly high with the Freebird.
