Throw your board in the Burton Space Sack, stuff it into the back of your whip, and rally up to the mountain. The durable poly fabric and removable shoulder strap help you haul up to two decks (one with bindings) with ease. We probably wouldn't check this thing at the airport, but for lightweight protection it can't be beat.
My board is a 166cm wide. I want to eliminate the need to carry multiple bags to the lodge. Will the 166 size bag be enough to carry my board, boots, gear, and maybe a extra jacket/pants?
I've been looking for a longboard bag for my 46" Never Summer Swift. I looked at an actual longboard bag and that was over $150. I decided to go with a Burton Space Sack 128 and it fits my board perfectly. I could fit two boards; a 43" and a 46" with a helmet and padding gears. I have no problem checking in at the airport. I wish it has a little more padding but for $40, this wa a steal.
I'm looking for a board bag to check on a flight. I like the price of this one but I see that it doesn't have much extra padding. The board that I'm taking isn't my main board so I'm not too concerned, just trying to avoid dings and scratches. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Dogfunk.com knows that no one wants the used-car-salesman experience, so we decided to show you the other guys prices in an effort to keep your shopping experience as informed as possible. I was looking for this exact bag for my 164. I bought the 181 so I can cram as much crap in it as I can. It has no padding but I use this as my road travel/storage bag. It's pretty much just your standard bag, but if you want to have something padded this is not the bag for you my friend.
I've got a 157... and have been carrying my boots and extra gear in a separate bag. Is the 166 a good sized bag for the 157 and my stuff (boots/bindings/goggles/etc.). And with the board only being a 157, do I need to worry about stuff shifting around a lot? Has anyone ever had a problem with gear moving around and messing up a board? I won't be using the bag for anything other than ground travel, so I'm not worried about the lack of padding.
You can probably stuff your separate bag into the spack sack. I can do it and I ride a 156 board. 1 boot behind the bindings, 1 boot between bindings, small backpack(helmet, gloves, tools, etc.) front of bindings.
The space sack is just a bag, so your stuff will probably shift around a bit. You want to carry booze? That is a recipe for disaster, you board could easily bust you booze open. The 166 is the best size for you for sure.
get the 146, you'll be able to fit your boots and most other gear (as long as its not too bulky) in the bag on top of the board. The 156 would be too big and your board would shift around a lot. I have a 156 board and got the 156 space sack and it fits like a glove in the bag, and i have room for my camelbak, helmet, googles, and gloves.
Get the 146 if you want the bag to fit your board. If you are growing and will get a bigger board in the future then you could grab the 156. It will be pretty big for your board now, but more space is better than less space.
Will I be able to fit my boots and other gear into the bag if I put my 158cm board in the 166cm bag? I don't want a repeat of my last trip where my gear was all over the place.
Took this bag on tons of trips, has room to stash boots, helmet, and a jacket along with your board. Works well for trips to Utah, etc on an airline too
should i get a sack that is one size up from the size of my board? I have a 156cm board but would like to put my boots and other stuff in the bag as well.
I bought the 166cm version to use with my 156 board with Burton custom binding (Medium). It fit inside the bag without hassel and still have room to toss in my size 10 boots and helmet(if your boots don't smell).
The bag has no side pocket but I keep all the little things like gloves, tools, lock, etc. etc. in my backpack anyway.
I took it to the mountain last week and putting everything back at the end of the day was still easy enough to not elicit any four letter words or chapped finger tips.
Looks well made, great product for the (dogfunk) price. Get it!
This is a great bag for the money. I have a 156 Forum Image and it fits in the 156 version of this bag perfectly with my boots as well, so no need to get a larger bag to fit your gear. This bag doesn't have much if any padding, so don't be looking to take it on a flight with you to the Rockies or Whistler, just use it as a sack to keep your board from getting dinged in the back of the car or in the Thule or to keep your gear together.
Looking to throw your board and boots in with some threads for the weekend powder venture, then this is all you. Probably not going to be the best bag for air travel, as it doesn't have the necessary padding for the careless luggage handler's. Consider what you are need in a bag, when you're looking around, Burton keeps it fresh with sick color/style options. I got the Lipstick and its straight 'G'.
I'm not sure what the difference is between the 09/10 sack and this one unless this is the 10/11. If so is this one padded at all? I'm goign to be flying soon and am wondering if this would hold up well on a flight. Thanks.
The bag is not padded, I would not check this bag unless you want to wrap your board up in bubble wrap. This is perfect for trips to and from your local mountain. For traveling check out the wheelie gig bag. This is padded and great for traveling. You can also check out the board case which is bigger and better as well. http://www.dogfunk.com/burton-wheelie-gig-bag and http://www.dogfunk.com/burton-wheelie-board-case
this is a great bag, good size and fits a lot - my board is 154 (i got the 156 bag) and there's plenty of room for it, boots, bindings, goggles, jacket, pants, other gear etc. seems pretty durable, i checked it at the airport and had no problems or damage or anything. plus the watercolor is really cute! definitely recommend
When you're going on a ski road trip with your pals, you don't want to be THAT guy who's sh*t is all over the place and whose board keeps whacking everyone in the face when you wind around bends. Nah, just throw some added protection on it like this hunk of padding. That way your buddy will only get a bruise, not a cut from your edges. Throw him a beer and tell him to get over it.
