Burton Uptown Jacket - Women's - 2010

Stupefy the bros waiting their turn at the park when you ride up wearing the stylish Burton Women\222s Uptown Jacket. They\222re stunned and confused by dope details like exposed zippers and the subtle embossed plaid pattern woven into the storm-proof DryRide shell. Taking advantage of the befuddlement, you jump to the front of the line and drop in.

  • Removable powder skirt with jacket-to-pant interface lets you create a head-to-toe barrier against the snow
  • Mesh-lined underarm zips help prevent yucky, sweaty baselayers by providing extra ventilation
  • Team Fit gives you more room to move and extra length in the body and sleeves

Bottom Line: Hit \222em hard.

As in inches? I don't have the jacket around so I can't measure it but it is a not a bomber style jacket, so it is a good normal length jacket. Not short at all.

Great Jacket

Just got this jacket in the mail and its pretty sweet. I haven't taken it out in the cold yet but the insulation seems really warm and its made of a durable, thick material. I got the herb color which is sligtly lighter in color than shown but I like it! I got a M which fits great and I usually get S/M so there is plently of room for me to layer if necessary. Only drawback is the zipper which isn't the greatest.

Good Fit Wrong Color

By:
November 15, 2010

Online the Ember looks like a rusty red color but in reality it is blaze orange. The look books on the Burton page show the color more accurately. I exchanged for black and the color is better.
Update since I've used this on the mountain:
Pros: The waffle knit lining feels great and is really warm. The fit looks great but works better for regular winter coat, not for snowboarding. The waist is accentuated which looks good, but it's too tight for thick layers. Also, the hood is the perfect size and really moves with your head so you don't end up with hood blind spots.
Cons: There aren't any wrist gaiters and the sleeves kept riding up so I kept getting snow in my sleeves. Also the media pocket is too small for an itouch and is on the inside of the coat so I had to unzip every time I wanted to change music. And last of all, the big metal zippers catch and get stuck all the time, very annoying.
Bottom line: if you're a small girl with short arms and a small mp3 player and want a tight fit this is fine, if you're average size or bigger either order a size up or get a different coat.

I agree with the color discrepancy, I was expected a burnt sienna type color, but it was actually a fluorescent orange. I sent it back.

Actually there's a separate pass pocket at the bottom of the front zipper. The pocket on the sleeve is more of a stash pocket. It's big enough to fit a small wallet or tool in.

No it is not a media pocket. It is a small packet for you season pass.
