Description

Featherweight freestyle versatility.

The flagship of Burton's camber lineup, the Vapor Snowboard is packed with cutting-edge technology to eliminate nearly all excess weight. The 2011 version features a new shape that's slightly more twinnish for extra stability while riding switch, and it gets even lighter thanks to the new Slimrail sidewalls.
  • Alumafly core uses aircraft-grade aluminum honeycomb for an unbelievably light core that still retains a smooth tip-to-tail flex
  • Carbon Vaporskin fiberglass minimizes weight while delivering solid torsional flex for powerful turns
  • Carbon I-Beam adds pop for more powerful ollies
  • Stainless-steel edges stay sharp and resist corrosion, while Frostbite in binding zones extends out slightly for extra grip on firm snow
  • Slimrail sidewalls are designed to shave excess material without compromising edge grip or durability
  • Wax-impregnated Sintered WFO base is super fast in a variety of snow conditions
  • The Channel mounting system allows infinite stance options and easy on-hill adjustments

Responsive & Lightweight

Having also ridden the T6 and Custom X in the past, I was surprised by how responsive the 2011 Vapor rides for it's light weight. This is truely a surprisingly light board. The T6 was light but not stiff and folded in half after only a couple rides. So, far the Vapor has surpassed my expectations.
I would say that the only negative is that the maximum length is 162. They should offer at least a 166. Maybe next year?

Very taken back

To be honest I havent ridden a vapor in quite a few years, and I just got off the '11 159 from the burton demo. Wow have they done quite an excellent job on this deck. It is a powerhouse of a ride that will eat up whatever you throw at it and spit it back out. It had a huge amount of pop that was still predictable even on the larger jumps. It held an edge like a race board and was able to bash through even the cruddies of runs. And it was hands down the best pipe deck ive ever been on.

There are two tragic flaws to this almost perfect deck, you will not be able to do a nose press (but who needs to when your riding main park at Mammoth), and secondly it works you, after only a few hours of riding the vapor I felt like i just ran a marathon, but maybe it was because I was having too much fun.

Super tech Super pricey with a BIG let down...

lasted about 8 days honestly. Was poorly represented by shop that sold the board (not Dogfunk.com which was a huge mistake) bent up the heal side edge and the top sheet is wavey and warped as all get out. Never even had a chance to ride the board in the pipe. Poor customer service from Shop in MN that sold the board and the W48 from burton was a joke refusing to work with me in any way shape or form to warranty. Unhappy with product as well as Burton from this experience.

depending on the size of the board, id reccomend hopping on the never summer heritage or SL-R. it is half the price, but 3 year warranty build in Denver Colorado is the truth... Burton is lacking lately in the dept for quality products...they make awesome boots and bindings but boards havent been what they useto be from 4 or 8 years ago

Vapor

The Burton Vapor for this year got a little overhaul from the past. With a twin flex and directional shape the versatility of this board got turned up another notch. Coming in even lighter this year it makes for a responsive and poppy feel that will magnify your best riding qualities. With a new size the 155 it is easier than ever to get the perfect fit.

The thing about this board is you need to try it to know just how good it really is, and trust me you wont be disappointed.

What the best biding for vapor 2011 board?

Responded on

That is fully personal preference. If you like soft bindings then go with the Custom EST, if you like crazy stiff then check out the Co2 EST or a great all around binding the Cartel EST. How stiff do you like your bindings?
