Stay bad ass.
Between the triple-digit lift prices at resorts, skate-stoppers in the streets, and corporations sucking the life out of the industry, someone has to stand up for snowboarding. The Defenders of Awesome FK Snowboard is Capita's valiant act of defiance; with a versatile medium flex and poppy, yet forgiving profile, it's here to help keep shredding rad, whether you're doing it at the park, in the backcountry, or on the streets.
The Hybrid FK profile features mellow camber between the inserts for pop, power, and edge hold, with flat areas outside the bindings and a tiny bit of rocker just before the tip and tail to give it a forgiving feel and improve float in powder. Dual carbon rods running vertically down the board from the nose increase pop and rebound, and the RFC Sustainable core provides a lightweight and lively feel without contributing to the destruction of the rainforest. The sustainably-harvested poplar core also ensures a consistent flex for proper presses and smooth turns.
Special Blend EVO biax glass provides a smooth, consistent flex, and it's bonded with a polyurethane-based resin that's less harmful to factory workers than traditional resins, and it also happens to be stronger too. It has a true twin profile for unrestricted switch trickery, but don't let that keep you from taking this thing into the deep stuff, because it kills it there too. The sintered base is wax-infused to prevent it from drying out, and tough so it can take a beating and keep getting up for more.
- Mellow camber underfoot, flat zones outside inserts, rockered tips
- Medium flex
- Special Blend EVO Tech fiberglass
- Sustainably-harvested poplar core
- Carbon stringers
- Full ABS sidewalls
- Wax-infused Rotation sintered base

subpar at best
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Was stoked to get it, did not live up to expectations, rides like a crusty bed sheet in anything deeper than 2'' of fresh. Could not get it off the ground, nose digs under pow like a mexican whore into a pile of tortillas, started to delam after first day, very disappointed, prob only thing good for is park. Cant return so will ride till breaks, which prob be pretty soon.
Capita DOA is sick
The Defenders of awesome is a super fun twin with lots of pop. It has a longer effective edge so they say you can size down but to get the full review go to http://thesnowbro.com/2014/12/12/capita-defenders-of-awesome-review/
Amazing All Mtn Board
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
Don't let the graphics keep you from picking this up. Quick edge to edge, predictable when laying down carves (not hooky) stiff enough for speed and soft enough for park. I'm 5'11 175 lbs with gear on and picked up a 156 . I got it more for park and cruising groomers rather than charging bigger lines. I'd gone 158 for more pow / chunder snow but this was a quiver board for me.
