Stand up for what's rad.

Between the triple-digit lift prices at resorts, skate-stoppers in the streets, and corporations sucking the life out of the industry, someone has to stand up for snowboarding. The Defenders of Awesome FK Snowboard is Capita's valiant act of defiance; with a versatile medium flex and poppy, yet forgiving profile, it's here to help keep shredding rad, whether you're doing it at the park or in the streets.

The Hybrid FK profile features mellow camber between the inserts for pop, power, and edge hold, with flat areas outside the bindings and a tiny bit of rocker just before the tip and tail to give it a forgiving feel and improve float in powder. Dual carbon rods running vertically down the board increase pop and rebound, and the RFC Sustainable core provides a lightweight and lively feel without contributing to the destruction of the rainforest. Special Blend EVO biax glass provides a smooth, consistent flex, and it's bonded with a polyurethane-based resin that's less harmful to factory workers than traditional resins. The sintered base is fast and durable so it can survive life in the streets.

  • Camber between bindings, flat outside bindings, and rocker at tips
  • Twin shape
  • Dual carbon rods
  • Special Blend EVO Tech fiberglass
  • RFC Sustainable core
  • Sintered base
  • PLT topsheet technology

Hi, I weigh 160, 5'8" sz 9 boot and wanted a board for jumps in the park( got 180s down pretty good and want to learn more spins and flips) and getting crazy. I was wondering if you would recommend this board in a 154 or 156 or a different sz?? This boards graphics are BA, that's part of what draws me towards but, I would prefer a good stable board for jumping and spins and whatnot, would you recommend this board or the outsiders or outdoor living? Also, could you help with the board sz recommendation? Thanks in advance.

Hey Benja,
Since the board is a hybrid camber with rockered tip and tail, you can go down a size and still feel comfortable on the board. Plus the slightly shorter size will be great for progressing spins with less drag. But you won't sacrifice stability. So a 154cm should work great as a park board for jumps and spins.

Thanks Jessica, I'm going to go with the 154.

I've been an avid Capita supported for years and having ridden the Ultrafear FK, The Outdoor Living, The Totally Fk'n Aweosme, and The Defenders of Awesome. I can say this is the all around best board I've ridden. Great medium flex with camber between the bindings for the extra ollie power everyone is always looking for, but the zero to reverse camber past the bindings makes the board feel nice and catch free. The board does great in park off all jibs, rails, jumps, hits, bonks, jabs, stabs, and bong rips. Around the mountain you can really slay anything you want, powder, groomers, crud, slush, water, ect. And once you are done defending awesome on the mountain you look pretty damn good with this board in your hands cause it has gun wielding babes on it.

ps. If you put this thing in a straight line from the top of Colorado chair to the bottom you will cry. (Breck)

Chack-wacking my dillet

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This board is extra fun. Grabbed myself a 154 and have already logged 3 days on it. So much fun to ride, and it can really power through the terrain at nice fast speeds.

A blast to launch off kickers and natural airs. Fun to jib and rail on as well.

The graphics are the best of any board for 2014 I think. People love to look at it, and the font reminds me of Terminator. Win Win.

If you are thinking about a board to use for everything, this should be on your wishlist no problem.

Hi! Does this board can butter? is it soft enough?

Best Answer Responded on

It's not the softest board to be honest. I'm really digging it a ton, but if you like to butter and not have to put too much muscle into it, you might be looking for a different board.

Get this thing to pop huge ollies and still get nasty on the rails.

Responded on

Thx Bro. But question for me was: is it still suitable for buttering? Does it has enoughf flex for it. And its ok to put a little bit of muscle into it)

I can butter just fine on my 154. The positive camber between the bindings definitely adds some pressure to pulling up vs. a soft rockered board. I'd say this board is in the dead middle of the stiff/soft spectrum. Not too stiff and not too soft.

Hi, can I know what is your bindings for this board? Should go medium or medium/stiff? I used the Union Contact Pro on and I found it a bit too soft. The adjustability of the UCP is also a bit of a cock up especially the highback angles. The toe straps also dig into my feet where the ratchet level is so I wouldn't say they are comfy.

For bindings I got the Union Atlas from this season. A lot more stiff than the Contact Pros I think. I'm really liking them.

Hi . im 147 and about 5,5 ft can i go with a size 154?

Responded on

Yeah you could go with a 154, but it might be a little long depending on your intended use. I'm 5'5" also and my pow board is a 154; my every day board is a 152. Particularly if you are in the park a lot, I would go with something a little shorter. For all-mountain and freestyle-type riding though, 154 would work for you.

I get yourself a 150 definitely

Got a Quiver Killer on our hands

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

And what do I mean by that folks? Well, the days of needing a park board, all - mountain board and pow board are just about over. I say this because the fine folks at Capita have engineered a board that can pretty much kill in each terrain. Now alls you gotta do is pick a size. This is actually pretty important, because when killing a quiver one must fine the "perfect" middle ground of three different things. I'm 160 and about 6 ft and chose a 156 and its perfect stable enough all around the mountain, but still maneuverable in the park and fairly effortless in POW. I love it to ride all around.

HOWEVER, say your not trying to kill a quiver, I still feel this board can suit most anyones needs due to its super progressive hybrid camber style (look this ish up, it is dope!). Basically, you just need to choose the right size and you will be stoked. For instance if I was doing strictly park boarding I would snag the 152, but if I wanted to go more all mountain/POW guy on it I'd be riding the 158. YOU WILL LOVE THIS BOARD . . . as long as you get the right size, which isn't to hard to figure out.

Also this year I was very happy to find out that the base is now a sintered speed base and I will be beating all of my friends through the flats, HA.

ALSO, lets not forget about the BABES on the topsheet!

Sexiest board on the Hill!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This Board Rips!!! I rode the 54 all last season & loved every bit of the mountain on it!! True twin, great flex combined with the perrrfect Hybrid camber. Great for skating the mtn jibbing all in site yet sooo stable at Mach10 speeds. And It floats pow w/ minimal effort. I like Camber because it gives you power & holds the most solid Edge, This boards reduced camber combined with a Flat Zero Camber zone followed by a early rise Rocker at the tip & Tail make it so easy & fun to ride!! It has tons of POP & The Sintered base on this deck makes it super fast,Especially after a fresh hot wax! I can't help but love the Graphic, It's definitely going up on the wall when I'm done with it!!
