Ski or ride, you’ll slide into the backcountry hands-free with the Baker.
With a ski or snowboard carry option, the DAKINE Baker Backpack doesn’t decide your method of rapid descent, you do. Inside this versatile backcountry bag lies space for an extra layer, some delicious snacks, and a hydration bladder. An external snow tool pocket keeps your safety gear at a moment’s reach so you’re Johnny-on-the-spot should disaster strike. Don’t forget back-up goggles too—DAKINE pimped out the pocket with a fleece lining that’s softer than the sheets on your bed.

Bag looks awesome, However my previous bag (Which died after 7 years of service) Could carry an 18 can crate of beer, wondering how far off this bag is in terms of this? I'm used to carrying my life round with me in a pack so a fair bit of room is required for me, also how water proof we talking?
DAKINE - Baker Backpack
This backpack is awesome. Lots of compartments for the overall size of the bag. Enough room for a shovel and tools, some extra layers and a few snacks.
Good for light packing
This pack's great if you don't need to carry much. A couple articles of clothing, a bottle or two, some accessories, and yes, a board (skate or snow).
I should note that if you carry a skateboard, your grip tape will probably scuff up the fabric of the backpack. Also, this thing can only hold 2, maybe 3 normal school-sized textbooks. It's very flat.
After I got out of college, I take this with me to work as a schoolteacher. It's holding a 17" laptop (very tight fit, but my comp's huge anyway), a water bottle, tupperware of lunch, and a sweater.
AWESOME hidden little zipper on the left backpack strap.
Is the waist belt removeable?

This is listed as being able to carry skis/snowboards, but can you also put a skateboard on here?
Yep just strap it on the back with your trucks facing out and you can adjust the straps depending on the size of your board
I bought this pack a little over a year ago. It is good for carrying lunch for a day at the resort. I also use it as my backpack for school.. However I do not recommend it for the backcountry, mainly because the board hold is not that sturdy, and the board tends to lean to one side, and does not make for a comfy fit when hiking/skinning/snowshoeing.
I would recommend the heli-pro dakine model over this one. Or Osprey out of Colorado, check those packs out. They are super solid in the back country
Fit snug, like it wasn't even there never in the way, just enough room for some energy bars and room to delayer as u get heated. The bladder pouch fit my camelback perfect and definatlly came in handy! A great buy I recomend highly
pimpin isn't easy but its necessary
this backpack is awesome i use it just about everyday, i've had it for a good 8 months and there is only a lil wear on it. i use it for carrying school stuff or going to the local golf course to fill it up with golf balls at 1 in the morning. its also a great backpack for shredding the gnar. goggle pocket is nice when shredding. goggle pocket is also great for sunnies in the summer. i don't have anything bad to say about this backpack it has treated me right. oh and also if you buy a bladder its also pretty much a camelback its sick. i use this thing as my camelback when i go dirtbiking. this backpack is so versatile so many uses for it.
