The right amount of clothing really makes a difference as you hurl yourself down a mountain in frigid temperatures. The midweight DAKINE Talon 3/4 Bottom surpasses the standard baselayers with its quick-drying, odor fighting fabric and high-ankle design that doesn't overlap your socks and bunch up under your boots.

  • Midweight polyester fabric holds in heat, breathes, and dries quickly if you take a hike in the afternoon
  • AEGIS Microbe Shield anti-odor technology in the fabric inhibits the growth of odor-causing microbes to keep your bottom fresh for a weekend of shredding
  • Close fit means the fabric lies against your skin for warmth and wicking performance
  • 3/4-length cuffs prevent sock overlap and under-boot bunching, which yields better fit and circulation for enhanced skiing and riding performance
  • Flatlock seams reduce chafing for a more comfortable ride
  • Elastic waistband secures the bottom as you stomp landings all day

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These are great. Good quality, warm, breathable, perfect length. I got 2 pairs so if one layer isn't enough i just wear both pairs. Amazing price for a great product.

Not really what i expected

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I didn't wear these because I am returning them. the reason being was once i picked them up i knew they are no where near middle weight. they are in fact really light in my opinion. You can almost see through them. I wouldn't see a point to use them on the slopes. I have many middle weight of other brands and these aren't really close. just my opinion.

Not what I was expecting... but great!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

When I first ordered these I was under the impression that that would be much tighter than they actually are, more like a traditional baselayer. These are more like semi baggy fleece pants. I love them! Super soft and very warm. My first pair of bootcut baselayer pants and I don't think that I will ever go back. Come right to the top of my boots, no messing around with excess material smashed up against your shins. These seem to run a little big, my normal size, L, fits just fine but I feel like the mediums would have probably been a better option.

Legs are Happy!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Wasn't sure how the length of these would be. After using them a good 20 days or so last season, I'd have to say they're a perfect length. Never had cold legs wearing them and the fabric has held up as well. These are my base layer of choice no matter the conditions.

exactly what i have been looking for

These are perfect. I hate having my long underwear either in my boot or bunched up under my knee. The length of these is great, comes just below the knee. Can't wait to give them a wear while skiing.....come on October!!

Great value

Haven't had a chance to wear them yet, but they fit fine and washed well. I hate long base layer bottoms for skiing (or hiking in cold weather for that matter) and actually had a pair of fleece bottoms cut and hemmed before companies actually started making such things.

Too short

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These run a little too short unfortunately. I have a 30" inseam, and wear a Medium. They drop down to the bottom of the knee, when they really should be hitting mid or upper calf. They are about 2" too short for normal ski socks. As such, when skiing aggressively (i.e. fast in moguls, cliff drops, etc.), these pants will come untucked from your socks and start to ride up, and your socks will start to droop down into your boots.

Disappointing because I really liked the fabric.

The North Face Boot-Top ones hit about mid-calf and fit much better, but the fabric isn't as warm - not as good of a midweight.

I'm pretty particular about how my gear fits, so having bunched up pants in my boots is almost as bad as wearing wet socks. These go right to the top of the sock and don't cause any bunching up. Exactly what I was looking for. I have a 31 inch waist and the Small fits perfectly.
