DAKINE Carry On Valise Duffel Bag
Great for short trips carry on
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I have this bag in Kala and received positive comments & smiles from lots of females at the baggage claim, not to mention it matches the valet bag I had as a cross-body accessory! If you need a big voluminous , no frills 'bag' that is still a carry-on, this is it. The frame work will not allow it to fit under an airline seat but will definitely fit in the overhead bin. I checked it only because I wasn't in a hurry, didn't feel like bothering with ANY baggage and it was free. The video gives an accurate view of the bag. Inside, are 3 open pockets with elastic approx 6"x6". The opposite side is a zippered pocket approx 12"Dx8"D. The only design suggestion I have is: The zipper pull 'TABS" on each end stick up whether the bag is full or not. They need a big snap or metal ring that can be secured somehow to the base of the bag when it's NOT full. It's hard to explain, but if there were a ring at each 'Tab' and one at the base (where the solid color meets the print of the bag), at least I could put a carabiner to secure them down and keep the shape of the bag more confined. The empty bag is 5lbs and 'feels' heavy.
Overall, I'm very happy with it .

Will this fit under the seat of an airliner?
Hello, thanks for the question.
This is actually going to be very dependent on the airline and where you sit on the plane (business class, coach, first class etc.)
The space available under the seat widely varies between airlines, and the model of the plane. You should check with your airline to determine what these restrictions are for your journey.
Here are the dimensions for this bag: 20 x 15 x 10.5 in
This is fairly sizable, so my best guess is that no, it won't fit underneath the seat.
